Jim Giles' CERTIFIED Safe Rooms is not just any tornado shelter company. If we were, then we would offer more types of products, like below ground cellars etc. No, this company was founded by a career meteorologist, the late Jim Giles, whose career spanned more than 40 years in three different fields of weather, including a weather forecast commander in Vietnam during the 1960s, a University Professor of meteorology and of course a Meteorologist on TV in Austin and Dallas, Texas before he became a television icon in Tulsa, Oklahoma for more than 25 years. Jim's passion was to keep you and your family safe.

Location

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS 4-inch thick concrete slab containing rebar or wire mesh, attached to the foundation of your home via the unit's steel frame. Most garage pads have this thickness of concrete. For home additions or new construction, we can install the unit in conjunction with your contractor and turn any closet into a safe room. Patios typically do not have the required 4-inch thick reinforced slab and require additional concrete work to be completed prior to instal
