Ramos Auto Body

Miguel Senior knows paint and body work. That's where it ends. Insurance jobs yes, he does good work, but DO NOT take your vehicle to him for custom paint or body job for a vintage vehicle.

I took my 72 VW bus to Miguel, we struck a deal for paint and body $6,000. I gave him 50% down to get started. 6 months and no work had been done. In fact, good ole Miguel had left the country to go back to Mexico to visit family. Hmmm. I wonder if my money helped him get back there?! Either way, I chose to remain positive and give Miguel the benefit of the doubt.

A year later, I check in and not one thing was done to the bus, it was never moved from it's original spot. Miguel had only excuses.. His welder was not getting back to him, or the new welder was drunk on the job, blah blah blah. He offered to give me my money back but I liked Miguel as a person, and although frustrated, I wanted him to just do the damn job. I said I'd check back with him in a few months.

A few months passed, checked back and Miguel was gone again to Mexico. WTF!!!! Oh, and no work was done on the 72 bus. Amazing!!!! I pretty much accepted he was not going to do a damn thing on that bus and therefore searched for someone to take the project over for paint and body. I found someone, retrieved my bus from Ramos Auto Body (Miguel was still out of town), and it's now with a REAL company that can execute the job.

But it's not over yet!

So now the next adventure begins, getting my $3,000 deposit returned. In August, I contact Miguel via phone and tell him I took my bus back and want my $3,000 deposit returned. He says he doesn't have the money and needs until end of October. Pissed, I let him know it's bullshit that he doesn't have it immediately. But, I give him one more chance (my mistake).

Called November 1st.... Request money and he doesn't have it. I ask him for at least $1500 as a first payment. He says he'll get back to me tomorrow. No call back the next day.

Attorney has been notified.
