Dr. Roxana Naderi believes that the relationship between a physician and a patient should be 50/50. “My philosophy is that knowledge is power,” she said. “The patients know themselves better than I ever could know them. Therefore, my goal is to empower patients with medical information, treatment options and my general recommendations so they can make informed decisions when it comes to their health care.” A believer in evidence-based practice, Dr. Naderi trusts science and uses medical studies to influence her approach to treating individual patients. Dr. Naderi stresses the importance of establishing a relationship with a primary care provider. “When you’ve established care with a provider, they recognize the big picture,” she said. “It’s not just one head cold or a quick ailment, it’s the larger pattern of medical issues a primary provider can recognize, which is different from an urgent care situation. Having a comprehensive understanding of the medical issues you encounter over time can better prepare us to manage illness whenever they come up.” After working in hospital settings, Dr. Naderi decided to move into primary care in order help patients stay well and to prevent medical conditions from impeding their quality of life. “I look forward to developing strong relationships and earning trust from my patients over time by practicing evidence-based medicine,” she said. Dr. Naderi earned her medical degree at the University of Washington in Seattle and completed her internal medicine residency training at the University of Colorado in Denver.
