Fibromyalgia
I have been seeing Sylvia for several years for my fibromyalgia pain treatment. My pain is under control [as long as I don’t miss any medication] so that I can lead a normal functioning life. I enjoy my visits with Sylvia, she takes time to listen to whatever I want to discuss and she takes a personal interest.
Primary Care
Dr. Cubillo and Nicole Nelson are amazing. They take the time to listen and understand where the pain is. I have never gotten any judgment from either of them. I have been going here for years, and I will never go anywhere else. They keep my primary care and neurosurgeon up to date on my progress.
Family Practice
I have been going to Dr Cornidez for a few years now and he is one of the best doctors I’ve ever had. I have never had a more pleasant experience seeing a health provider in my life so far and we’re talking about a guy sticking needles into my back. Dr Cornidez always remembers me, in fact it feels like we pick up our conversation where we left off from the last visit...6 to 8 months ago! I wish Dr Cornidez would have gone into family practice, so I could have him as my PCP. He is always pleasant, personable, and really good at his job. I suffered from back pain for many years and after the third visit, I felt practically normal and could go without treatment for 6 to 8 months at a time. I even referred my father for treatment and he was just as happy with Dr Cornidez. And that was coming from a old man that hates change. I am very thankful to Dr Cornidez and his team for the improvement they gave my life. The whole staff at the Pain Institute is great and I really appreciate them.
Emergency Care
I was almost surprised about how kind and sympathetic Dr. Farshad was on my initial visit, a stark contrast to my pcp and the urgent care doctor I saw before him. My issue is a sciatic flare up that is interfering with my daily activities and it was really great that Dr. Farshad made me feel like there was a plan to get me back to normal, and seems to sincerely care about this. Very grateful for his input on next steps to get me back to normal.

Internal Medicine
Dr. Duran attended Texas Christian University for his undergraduate studies and is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He trained in internal medicine at Banner University of Arizona Medical before attending Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth Level I Trauma Center to complete his residency in anesthesiology. Dr. Duran completed his Interventional Pain Management/Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Illinois Chicago Medical Center.
Interstitial Cystitis
Dr. Steven Prust was my doctor when he performed a nerve block to help with my Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder pain. So far, after 2 days, my pain has been down 50%, a great relief after 2 years of daily pain.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Dr. Cornidez and his staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful during my appointment. Dr. Cornidez was very attentive to my concerns and explained the suggested procedure for carpal tunnel pain relief. After he performed the procedure with expert skill and precision, my pain was alleviated. I highly recommend Dr. Cornidez for anyone considering pain relief options!

Ultrasound
The patient lies down to expose the armpit. The area is cleaned and sterilized, and a local anesthetic is administered to numb the tissue at the injection site. The physician uses ultrasound or an electrical nerve stimulator to locate the brachial plexus nerves and the axillary artery, which pass through the upper arm. A needle is carefully guided through the armpit and down to the nerves. Anesthetic is slowly injected through the needle, bathing the nerves and temporarily blocking sensation in the arm.
MRI
After my MRI showed surgery was out of the question and steriod shots as well, Dr Cornidez suggested a stimulator, which was inserted in my back 1 year ago and i consider it a miracle that i am able to walk today. Dr. Cornidez never gave up until he found a way to help me walk again. I recommend the Pisa clinic for anyone suffering from back pain.

I have always had excellent care from Dr Cubillo. America did a great job evaluating my pain & ordering a hip X-ray. Kerry FNP did a thorough job of evaluating my pain, rom & my radiology exams.

The entire team was mobilized. My Boston Scientific pain stimulator was reprogrammed. CT scan completed, trigger point injections, and medications changed all within a week.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
It’s impossible to predict the extent of the pain you may feel after surgery because each person has a different level of tolerance. The severity of your pain also depends on the type of surgery. Conventional open surgery with one large incision causes more trauma to your body. By comparison, minimally invasive surgery uses small incisions that may not need to cut through the muscle, and it also causes minimal bleeding.

I’ve been recently diagnosed with Cancer in my uterus and a huge tumor as well right on my pelvis. I struggled after getting out of the hospital because my primary ignored my pain and if was a struggle to get any pain relief from her. I was referred by my radiation Dr to Pain Institute of Southern Arizona where I met Kerry Kopecky. She started me on a pain management that helped me right away. I also had pain that was hurting me and she figured out right away what it was and started me on another medication. I really feel how much she cares about me and works so hard to help me deal with this pain until my heart and lungs heal and I can get a hysterectomy. If you are suffering, this is the place to go. They will help you, respect you and treat you with dignity. Also they keep a close eye on you so you do not have to worry about becoming addicted. Cancer is brutal but Kerry helps make it a lot less painful. I’m forever grateful and will do everything I can to fight this battle.

I have been a patient at the Pain Institute for quite a long time. Following hip replacement and numerous problems in my lumbar spine, I had steroid injections, conversations with Dr. Eric Cornidez and his staff about options available to me. They are all such warm and caring people, I feel good about going there.
Knee Replacement
Dr Gossler for several years. He has help me with my lower back pain and left knee pain. I had a knee replacement thinking my pain would go away. After a year my knee pain was back. I didn’t understand why my knee pain was back. It affected my life. I couldn’t take long walks and very little exercise. Dr Gossler explained that pain was my nerves. He treated me with nerve block treatments. I’m so grateful for him not giving up on me. I’m going to Silver Sneakers classes and enjoying my life.
