Dr. Maloney completed Medical School at Columbia before undertaking his general surgery and burn fellowship at Vanderbilt. While at Vanderbilt, he also attended The Owen Graduate School of Management, obtaining his Master’s in Business Administration. Dr. Maloney did his formal plastic surgery training in Boston at Harvard in the Combined Plastic Surgery Program. He was Chief Resident for two years at Massachusetts General, Children’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital.
Neurosurgery
In 2002 Dr. Maloney received clinical appointment in Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Arizona. He is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has been voted into the Best Doctors in America® by his peers every year since 2005 and has been awarded the Castle Connolly Top Doctor award multiple times. Dr. Maloney has won the Arizona Daily Star’s Reader’s Choice Award for the past 4 consecutive years. Botox

Eyelid Surgery
Dr. Maloney’s reputation as an experienced and talented surgeon has drawn patients from all over the United States as well as other countries seeking his surgical skills. Roughly 15% of our patients travel from out of the Tucson, AZ area to undergo surgery with Dr. Maloney. Most cosmetic surgery procedures including facelifts, eyelid surgery, and breast augmentations can be performed on patients from out of town very smoothly when working closely with our patient coordinators.
Liposuction
The operation takes about one hour, but will depend on how much fat needs to be removed and transferred. Dr. Maloney will inject a tumescent fluid (lidocaine, saline and epinephrine) to the area he intends on harvesting the fat from to transfer. Once we are sure you are numb, he will perform “low suction” liposuction to harvest the fat. The harvested fat will then be separated from the fluid. Once the fat has been separated, Dr. Maloney will numb the areas he is going to inject the fat. Using specially designed cannulas, he will begin injecting the fat micro-droplets into the areas that have lost volume. Dissolvable sutures are used to close the incisions.

Plastic Surgery
Mandi is a certified surgical technologist that works with Dr Maloney in the procedure room. She also contributes by helping with suture removal, dressing changes and accommodates patient’s with answers to their questions before and after surgery. Mandi takes pride in helping and assisting Dr Maloney and her team here at Maloney Plastic Surgery to make sure every patient feels comfortable and safe.
Face Lift
After deciding you want Dr. Maloney to perform your procedure, you will be scheduled for a consultation and pre-operative appointment to meet with Dr. Maloney for an exam and a detailed review of the surgical plan. Our team will be holding surgical time the following day for your procedure which will be arranged prior to your trip to Tucson. The amount of time we will ask you to remain in Tucson is determined by the type of procedure you are having performed. If you are undergoing a facelift, for example, we suggest remaining in Tucson for 10-14 days. There are several hotels in the area and we do have relationships with a couple different certified home health companies that can assist you with transportation to and from the procedure as well as stay with you overnight if required.

Dr. Maloney’s specialties are facial rejuvenation (face lift and eyelid surgery) and breast augmentation. We are no longer accepting patients for body contouring (tummy tucks, liposuction), breast reductions, breast lifts and rhinoplasty.
Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing is a procedure in which a laser is used to resurface the skin of the face, neck or chest. We use the Sciton Erbium laser which is the latest technology available for laser resurfacing.

An additional study, submitted for publication by Patrick H. Bitter, Jr. of Advanced Aesthetic Dermatology, a well-known dermatologist and co-author of the JID study, takes this groundbreaking research further and explores the practical application and patient results of BBL treatments. Dr. Bitter’s study focuses on the ability to improve the appearance of aging skin with long-term and regular interval treatments with BBL and the Forever Young BBL treatment was born.
Acne Treatment
Lesions
The Forever Young BBL Treatment keeps the genes, the crayons, acting younger and can actually reverse the aging process by “turning on” the bright colors and “turning off” the dark, dull ones. This innovative procedure delivers light therapy that targets the signs of aging and sun damage and at the same time promotes a refreshed, rejuvenated and more youthful appearance. Age spots, freckles, redness, acne and small vascular lesions are reduced. The number of treatments depends on the amount of damage to your skin and your age. Patients in their 30’s would typically receive 2 Forever Young BBL treatments a year. Patients in their 60’s would typically come in for a treatment 4 times a year.
Chemical Peels
A micropeel begins with dermaplaning, a manual exfoliation technique that safely and efficiently removes dead cells from the surface of the skin. The chemical peel resurfaces the face improving hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles as well as the tone and texture of the skin. Cryogenic therapy is then performed, which is an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and “skin polishing” procedure that cools and refreshes the skin.
Skin Care
At a consultation for a microneedling, one of our experienced skin care experts will discuss your skincare goals, your current skincare regimen and your current skin issues to determine if microneedling is right for you and your skin. Often times Vectra 3D imaging is performed to allow you and your skincare expert to view in 3D the sun damage, broken capillaries and overall appearance of your skin. This serves as a baseline. After completing a series of microneedling treatments together with a home regimen we can evaluate improvements in the quality of your skin.
