While I admire the profession, I am not too fond of doctors. Dr. Gilbert, however, is different. He actually treats patients as if they have an ability to think and he seems to allow patients to have some input in their own healthcare options. This is quite impressive and it is a big deal for me, especially because I am a Myers-Briggs INFJ (and INFJs tend to want to feel some control in situations).



Also, he is very perceptive in that he is quick to notice patients' quirks and personal preferences and seems to oblige. The older schools of medicine may have indoctrinated doctors (no pun intended) with the idea that medicine is medicine and necessary procedures override the patients' need to feel safe, secure, and unbothered. Dr. Gilbert is fairly contemporary and 'marches to the beat of his own drum'. He wants patients to trust him and he ambitiously strives to be worthy of such trust.



It may be that we both favor contemporary schools of thought, but that's good enough for me.

Do yourself a favor and do not go here. He was rude, slow, and unprofessional. Go anywhere else.

I visited the office Friday in search of a good primary care physician since I have quite an extensive medical history. I was very glad to arrive and find out there weren't 3 additional 3:30p appts booked as I have had happen before. My wait time was nil and the staff was great and quite personable. I felt like they took their time with me. The online patient portal is definitely convenient and I love being able to see my actual lab results.

We met Dr Bob after my elderly father in law was bite by our dog. He and his staff were very professional and caring. There where several follow ups for wound care, antibiotics and all the necessary things you'd need for a dog bite. We were so impressed that we now use him for the whole family and all our needs.

I took my daughter with a bad rash to see Dr. Bob. He came in the room looked at her did not ever touch her and charged me $ 75.00 because I don't insurance gave her meds which really did the job. We narrowed it down to being 3 different things and he want to do allergy test ( remember no insurance) and would not give any meds to help me narrow it down to one thing. He got rude on the phone with me told me that a lawyer would be charging me. I did not ask to talk to him his nurse sent me to him. and when all was said I told him since he could not help me to transfer my daughter records he raised his voise at me and hung up the phone on me before I could tell him where to transfer them. He has also done some things to my friend and my mom. Dr Bob if you read this or even care you are not the only doc in this area. Your office used to be a great place when the other Dr was there. Okay it makes since now. It was the other Dr that cared and keep it nice not you. Sorry I have told about 15 friends and all has something bad to say now.

I thought the staff was very friendly. My daughter and I came in and saw the female doctor, I think her name was Jessica and she was very friendly and thorough. The front desk people were very helpful also. My daughter has asked before to go there when I've mentioned taking her to the doctor. As a mother I feel very confident that Dr. Gilbert and his staff will take good care of me and my family. They always make us feel welcome and we've never had to wait longer than 20minutes. I would highly reccomend this clinic.

I do not recommend unless you enjoy being out over an hour of your time and a copay only to be told to call back in a week if you are still sick and THEN they will call something in for you. "Dr. Bob" doesn't write prescriptions for antibiotics for what he feels is likely a viral infection, but also doesn't take blood to confirm whether or not your illness is viral or bacterial. I went to American Family Care days later, where they did confirm an infection for which antibiotics were needed and prescribed. Don't waste your time or money!

I know a lot several people have had outstanding things to say but I was very disappointed in them. The first time I went I saw Dr. Bob and he really put me down because I smoke. That was not the way to handle someone who was very sick. The next time I went, which was several months later, I was feeling so bad and he was more concerned about my smoking than getting me over the illness. I was ready to stop smoking but the way he treated me was unbelievable. He told me the medical care I would need because I smoked was going to be very very expensive. He told me he would not give me anything for the cough because I smoked and needed to cough. I had pneumonia. I know you need to cough some but you also have to rest to get over any illness. He gave me the most expensive antibiotics on the market and 2 or 3 different inhaler, which were also among the most expensive on the market and he also wrote a prescription for the thing you use to inhale the inhalers. I went to pick up the medicine and I also don't have good insurance, it was astronomical how much my prescriptions were going to cost. I did not get them and called the office and told them I could not afford the medicine and asked if they could please give me some samples. They told me they didn't have any samples but they could call call something else in. Ha, Ha, they called in doxycyline , which is an old antibiotic and just happens to also be free at Publix. I called a couple of days later and Dr. Emfinger did call me in something for my cough. Do you know that Dr. Bob also says that there is no such thing as walking pneumonia or mycroplasma. What is wrong with all those doctors out there with their made up diagnose. Dr. Bob office also sent me a bil for a couple of hundred dollars for his poor medical care. I feel like he is truly an old timey doc in the box who is full of himself.

These docs are great!! I went in for what I thought was a pulled muscle in my back and down my leg. Dr Endfinger ordered an ultrasound to make sure I didn't have a blood clot. Turns out it was a very large clot and I had to be hospitalized and put on a blood thinner. I'm still being treated by a specialist, but I've decided to continue with Dr. Endfinger and Dr. Gilbert as my primary care physicians.



The staff in this office are friendly and very efficient. You can actually call and speak with the doctor!!!! Very rare in this day and age. More doctors should model their practices on this one.

Dr. Gilbert has been such a blessing!!! My mother went to see Dr. Gilbert for a simple cold. But left his office with something much more serious. Dr. Gilbert did a chest x-ray and found a mass on her lung. He advised her to have it looked at. She is now recovering from a Thoracotomy. They had to remove a lobe of her lung because that mass was stage I lung cancer. What is really scary is my mother had just had a chest x-ray done 3 months before this and that mass was there. But for some unknown reason that moron Dr. did not tell my mother this. When she questioned him on why he did not say anything his response was "Well, I thought it was a calcified nodule. People get them all the time." I don't know if it is just me. But I think if there is anything on my lung I want to know about it so I can have a specialist look at it. My mother is very lucky that it did not spread in that 3 months. THANKS!!! Dr. Gilbert......

My husband thought he had pnemonia but was actually in Congestive Heart failure, Dr. Bob discovered this and took immediate actions. In which my regular family practice doctor did not catch after 2 visits to thier office. My husband was directly admitted to the Hospital and is doing great now. Dr. Bob and Dr. Endfinger's care did not stop at their office doors, they still followed up to ensure we were getting the best care at the hopistal. Thank you so much!

I had an excrutiating migraine when I first saw Dr. Gilbert and he took immediate care of me. I left the office feeling 75% better! Dr. Gilbert is licensed as a chiropractor so he mixed traditional and non-traditional medicine for me and gave such immediate relief! He also personally walked me out of the office as I was leaving that day. I have never had a doctor personally care for me this way. I am changing to Dr. Gilbert as my primary care doctor as he is so caring and attentive to my healthcare needs.

Dr. Robert (Bob) Gilbert is very kind as well as knowledgeable! Both doctor's have been in medicine for over 20 years. Everything is new & up to date. Virtually no wait time, accepting new patients, open 7 days a week & they have extended hours. Located accross the street from Publix in the brick complex that is in front of the Trussville PUMP IT UP.
