Strings Italian Cafe

My husband and I visited this restaurant with our 4 kids, 2 of them are teenagers, an 11 yr old and a 4yr old. We often dine at the Strings in Modesto, Ca. and we always have a pleasant experience! However, at THIS Strings in Tracy,Ca. it started out with a shout across the restaurant as soon as we entered...the pregnant waitress said "sit where ever you want!" So we find our seat. She takes our drink order-FINALLY! After she brings us our drinks she brings us 2 small loafs of bread...for a family of six? We are so hungry since we waited to eat at this particular restaurant thinking it would be as good as the Modesto Strings. So, I ask for more bread and I swear I have never felt so guilty about asking for bread in my life. We ordered salad with our dinners since Strings is known for their delicious salad dressing....again...one bowl of salad for a family of six, although only 4 of us ordered dinner so it was only meant for the 4 of us and the server made that clear as she glared at my younger 2 children for eating some of the salad. Like I'm really going to tell my hungry kids that they can't have any salad because they didn't order an adult meal. It was such an awful experience and the server made me feel bad for asking for bread and letting my 2 younger children eat some of our salad. The dressing tasted watered down and NOT like the delicious STRINGS salad from the Modesto chain. They used diced tomatoes instead of the small cherry tomatoes that were used to from the Modesto Strings. The salad was horrible but we were hungry since we were on our way home from a road trip! My pasta Sienna was good but my husbands eggplant parmesan was cold in the middle and it tasted freezer burnt! The kids spaghetti was a little dry and not enough sauce.

Then, to top it off when we got our bill? Our total for a family of six dinners and six sodas? A whole whopping $23. 60... obviously she had given us someone else's bill. We waited and waited for about 15 min just to get her attention so we could correct the

mistake. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone! bad service and when your paying prices like that expecting a delicious meal you also should expect good service and not have to feel guilty for asking for a piece of bread and the salad that your entitled to that comes with your dinner!
