Osteoporosis

Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis is a long-term, progressive and disabling autoimmune disease that causes inflammation, swelling, and pain around the joints. RA usually affects the joints within the hands and feet first but can move to other joints around the body. It will also affect the same joints on both sides of the body. While RA is an autoimmune disease, it is also a systemic disease meaning that it can spread throughout the whole body. It can affect other organs such as the eyes, lungs, and heart causing them to inflame as the body will mistake the body’s healthy tissue for foreign invaders.
Fibromyalgia
Rheumatologists treat arthritis, certain autoimmune diseases, musculoskeletal pain disorders and osteoporosis. There are more than 100 types of these diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, lupus, back pain, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and tendonitis. Some of these are very serious diseases that can be difficult to diagnose and treat.

This can be your smartphone, an iPad or tablet, laptop computer or a desktop computer. At the time of your appointment, you will receive a text message to click on a link to enter the telehealth visit. Once this is done, you should be able to see and hear the provider.
Pediatric Care
After four years of medical school and three years of training in either internal medicine or pediatrics, rheumatologists devote an additional two to three years in specialized rheumatology training. Most rheumatologists who plan to treat patients choose to become board certified. Upon completion of their training, they must pass a rigorous exam conducted by the American Board of Internal Medicine to become certified.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Crohn’s disease characterized by chronic inflammation of the small bowel and part of the large bowel. It may also affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract. This includes the mouth, stomach and the anus. This should not be confused with ulcerative colitis that only affects the colon or any other under the irritable bowel syndrome group as it is in the inflammatory bowel disease. Crohn’s is the body’s immune response to bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract causing an exaggerated attack that leads to chronic inflammation. The symptoms occur due to the thickening of the walls in the intestines and ulceration.

All patients will be carefully evaluated prior to treatment, including prescreening for tuberculosis, administration of necessary immunizations, and laboratory evaluations.
