Cafe Basil

What a gem this little restaurtant it! Have been there twice and return every chance we get. The service is quick, and the folks are so polite. The food is Jamaican or traditional American fare. And can't beat the prices. All in all, you will not leave hungry, and you will feel like you've been on a mini vacation. A MUST.

My wife and I today drove from Orlando to Tavares and had the best lunch at the Basil Cafe. Service was phenomenal and the food awesome. When they found out my wife hadn't tried goat or ox tail, they gave her two samples. They have excellent French, American and Caribbean food. The owner Howard is a wonderful and friendly Jamaican gentleman. It's by far the best place for breakfast, lunch or dinner in the Mount Dora/Tavares vicinity. Matt and Angie of Orlando
