I would have to say that Dr. Nick was very pleasant and nice and seemed like she cares. I hope that she reads this. This may be the only way she finds anything out about the person she has working for her, Meagan. She thinks she the doctor. I was having a problem with my medication. The medication the doc put me on was giving me a headache, severe I might add. I called 4 times to ask that the Dr. Nick call me. I paid my bill in full. Finally I said to Meagan, "Are you ever going to give the doctor my message?"She stated she would have Dr. Nick call me for the 4th time. That never happened!!!! The 5th time I called Meagan said to me, "Usually the doctor will have the patient cut the pill in half ." And I'm suppose to listen to a secretary?? Make medical decisions without a license? I had no choice but to stop going to Dr. Nick. If there was a way to reach the doc I would. It's a dangerous situation there. For that reason I would not recommend this doctor. If she only knew! Imagine if I were an elderly person and she told me to take an extra pill. Imagine the consequences. I hope someone reads this and brings this to the attention to Dr. Nicks attention because I always had to go through the secretary who apparently has all the authority to make decisions. Be wary about this doctor people, she may not even know what's going on, but then again maybe she does.

Absolutely the worst dr anyone...

Absolutely the worst dr anyone could imagine. calls ignored for months, refusal to release medical records after paying for them. never communicated in any positive way. had to report to dept of health as well as contact a senator to get results. find a dr that cares!!!

terrible

My husband sees this doctor and well she is nice, you can never get a hold of her! My husband was doing really bad and need his meds adjusted but he called and left messages for 2 weeks and never got a call back! He ended up in the hospital because of that. And recently i have been calling just to find out if she was accepting new patients and i have left several messages and no call back....i understand that she is busy but this isnt exactly a profession where you can blow off your patients...sometimes its a matter of life and death that could be prevented with a timely callback.

Overall
Excellent psychiatrist; empathic and caring

I began seeing Dr. Nicholakis after a bad experience with another psyciatrist that I had been seeing for over 2 years. My 35 year old daughter had died in 2008, and I was stuggling with major depression, anxiety and isolation, along with the usual symptoms of not sleeping or eating. Dr. Nicholakis took a lot of time with me on my first visit, reassuring me these symptoms were very real and very normal. She tried some minor adjustments to the medications I was already on, added mild sleeping pills, but did not lecture me on getting out, making new friends, volunteering, etc. She was very supportive. Although her office (next to Helen Ellis Memorial Hosp) is not a grand or beautiful place, she makes up for all that in her personality and friendliness the minute you meet her. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
