I had brought in a pair of shoes and a purse to get repaired.I was recommended to Tampa Shoe Repair so I went there. When I returned to pick up my items they looked brand new. I was so happy on the work they did. I will continue to go there for my repairs. Great service and workmanship.

Overall

I have only been there 2 times, & I had vowed that I would never return after the first time. I wish I had stuck to it! First time, I had brought in a pair of knee high suede boots, & asked him to recover the soles. he lost the ticket when I returned to pick them up! I spotted them on the top shelf, & he said, "oh, are those yours because I didn't know whose they were & threw them up there" !! I look and he only covered half of the bottom! I said "I wanted the whole thing redone". He told me "no, you didn't & it doesn't need it!". He barked it at me with such rudeness.I said "for that price, the WHOLE thing should have been redone!"..And it was shoddy work.

Today, my husband insisted that we get his leather shoes restitched there. I warned him about the rudeness & bad workmanship. My husband didn't like the price, although I thought it wasn't too bad.My husband said very gently"I'm sorry, I think I made a mistake, I will buy new shoes for this price"The owner proceeds to yell at him!! "Then go buy new shoes! First she said, not too bad, then you say it's too much! Go on , buy new shoes, get out of my shop"!!!! I was in shock!! We walked out & just closed the door as he was screaming at us!He looked so angry, he could have had a heart attack!

You cannot speak to customers like that! I could have verbally attacked him, as I was really angry at that point, when I shut the door, but I held my tongue & came on here to tell the truth! Now I vow NEVER to go back & I will tell EVERYONE about him!! he does horrible work anyway!!

Hide your shoes!!

I really don't like to make a big deal about things that are materialistic, but I am a sucker for great service and this place is the absolute WORST experience I have EVER had when I comes to customer service and QUALITY in repairs.

I brought in a pair of Guess leather pumps which needed a bit of a facelift (understanding how difficult it may be to repair the coloring) you're not supposed to PAINT a leather shoe! Needless to say, they completely altered the color, basically looked like they spray painted the shoes with a sticky beige, which probably doesn't even belong on a leather. Still paid about $35 for ruining a pair of $95 heels.

The same day I brought the heels, I also brought a pair of boots (cost $195) which were real leather which I needed a zipper replaced on the side. Normally, if a place cannot repair it, they tell you they cannot since they need a special machine to replace the side zipper. The owner (unbelievable how rude) told me to keep the boot that doesn't need work and leave the one that does. I came back in a week (even though he said he would call after 5 days and didn't) and my heels were atrocious. Then, he couldn't find my boot! He asked me to return with my other boot to see if he could find it. Luckily I lived across the street so it wasn't that far. I came back with the other boot, said he would talk to the other manager. I came back 3 days later and he insisted the boot I gave him 3 days ago WAS the boot they fixed! And he screams at ME that i need to calm down, meanwhile has his 1 year old grand-daughter in the tiny shop crying up a storm.

I have never had an experience where a business owner screamed at me for being upset because of their lack of communication, losing an expensive boot, and ruining a pair of heels.

Seriously people, I wouldn't give that business another DIME... No refund, and wouldn't offer to replace the cost of the shoes he damages, cannot believe this place is even in business.

Overall

I took in a pair of men's shoes which were repaired nicely and the price was very fair. I also took in a Kate Spade Diaper bag ($395) with a tear in the seam. They told me no problem. I have never seen such a hack job. Sloppy stitching on the outside and it was done unevenly and caused bunching. They also got shoe polish on part of the green leather leaving it stained. I expressed my upset and asked for my bag and a refund. I was told no refunds only credit for future work. I said not acceptable and I would call my bank and dispute it. The owner (I assume he was the owner) yelled at me, yells to another employee that this is why they should not take credit cards. He got VERY loud and rude towards me, said this is what he gets for letting his new Spanish employee do the repair (I am not Spanish but I found that to be an offensive way to say what happened). He continued to yell and said he found out his grandson was sick and didn't need my sh*t. I had to get my father to come in (I am a grown woman but I felt highly uncomfortable being yelled at for simple expressing my dis-satisfaction and asked for a refund for shotty work) After that he agreed to try again to fix the bag but went on to tell me how hard of repair it was. When I brought it in the week prior I was told it would be an easy fix. Not only did they cause more damage but the level of rudeness was just beyond how any business should act. Also since I took 5 days to get it he made a remark how they thought I abandoned the items and I guess after a week they start selling things. While the shoes were done well I would rather pay double to go somewhere else. I will update review after getting bag bag to leave the end result. My advice though is to look for other places.
