We are as concerned as you about the risks and spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). While we do not expect the same chances of exposure in our offices as your primary care physician (who might be seeing patients for flu-like symptoms), we are still taking precautions. Male Infertility
Couples are said to be infertile if they have had at least one year of unprotected intercourse without successfully initiating a pregnancy. Approximately 15 percent of couples are infertile, according to this definition. Furthermore, a male factor is found to play a significant role in approximately 50 percent of cases. Florida Urology Partners specializes in male infertility.
Urinary Incontinence
Incontinence is defined as the involuntary loss of urine. Incontinence affects both men and women. A number of variables can cause incontinence. Causes of female incontinence include a â€œfallenâ€ bladder (stress incontinence), bladder instability (the frequency-urgency syndrome) and neurologic causes such as strokes or multiple sclerosis. Men may experience urinary incontinence for the preceding reasons, but may also experience leakage following surgery of the prostate or after treatment for prostate cancer.

Cancer arising from these cells make up more than 90% of all bladder cancers, and these are referred to as transitional cell carcinomas. Kidney Stones
Kidney stones are one of the most common conditions that urologists treat. Stones of the urinary tract are more common in males than females. Kidney stones are more common in Caucasians than any other ethnic group.
Urinary Tract Infection
Urinary tract infections (UTI) are one of the most common afflictions that cause patients to go to the doctor. UTI can affect men, women and children. However, women predominately get UTIs.
Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer occurs when normal cells change to malignant cells. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer found in men. More than 30,000 cases are detected annually in the U.S. When men turn 40, the risk for prostate cancer increases exponentially. It is usually a slow-growing cancer that is found primarily in older men.

Multiple Sclerosis

Ultrasound
Irritative symptoms may also occur which include frequency, urgency and getting up at night to urinate. A thorough history and physical exam are important in diagnosing BPH. A prostate specific antigen (PSA), and possibly a urine flow and assessment of residual urine with a bladder ultrasound, may be necessary to assess the severity of the symptoms.
X-Rays
Radiation Therapy
If prostate cancer is identified, the patient undergoes a staging evaluation with blood work and X-rays. Treatment options vary, and can include observation, radiation therapy, and radical surgical removal.
