Bay Area Water Conditioning

I have spent over $4000 on a kenitico water softening system and Reverse Osmosis through Superior Water. Because they are the only dealer in the area they think they can be rude to their customers and up charge ridiculous fees such as their $98 fee for an estimate that does not get applied to the cost of the repair. I just spent $500 on maintenance repair and I realized that the water from my RO system was barely coming out of the faucet. I called Superior Water to have them come out to fix it. I told them the problem and asked it they can give me a range of what the charge might be or even worst case having the water tank replaced because it was obviously a pressure issue and I was not sure if the membrane was broken or not. They still would not give me a price range. All they said was we'll come out but we may not even be able to fix that day and may have to come back out. They told me that the initial charge would be $98 ($70 trip+$28 first 1/2 hour) and that since my system was old I needed to pay an additional $49 for a leak guard otherwise they will not service the RO. Mind you I bought the system without it, now it is mandatory. And that is before they tell me what the problem is and then charge for the problem. This would of easily been a $200 plus call. I fortunately asked a good friend if she knew of some one and she referred me to Bob Wheeler of Bay Are Water Conditioning Services who she has been using for years. Bob told me it was an easy fix and since I live outside of the area he kindly told me over the phone what to do and that if the tank needed to be replaced he knows of a company where I could buy an inexpensive tank. Needless to say Bob's advise fixed my problem. All I needed to do was empty the tank and add air. It literally took me 10 minutes and most of that time was emptying the tank.
