I dont normally write reviews like this but I really want to share an experience that I hope will help others. I moved to the sylva area in 2007. I became pregnant that december. Being a small town I thought that I would need to go to Asheville for my care, until a friend recommended Smoky Mountain Ob/GYN. I made an appointment and was immediatley impressed with the professionalism of the staff. I saw a midwife that just wonderful and took time to answer all of my questions ( if you knew me you would realize that is a big feat :) I met with the billing department and they had all of my financial information laid out in an easy to understand format. My insurance had a deductable for Ob, and they had gone the extra step in calling my insurance company and precerting my pregnancy. I have never had a Doctors office do that before. during my pregancy I saw almost all of the 6 physicians and midwives and must say I was glad I made the choice to come to this practice. My delivery went well, even though I ended up needing a c section, but my incision healed extremely quick, I attribute that to the surgeon which was Janine Keever doing a great job. We had a beautiful little girl and as we contemplate having another child, I will without a doubt go back to these great folks. It just goes to show that you dont always have to go to the city to get state of the art care. I recommend Smoky Mountain without reservation.
