BEST LOCAL DENTIST!

After interviewing around to find a new dentist for ourselves and young kids, we found that Dr. Ron and Dr. Sally Davis were both accommodating and friendly. We've been going to them ever since (over 15 years). My young son was VERY nervous and had a gag reflex. Dr. Sally was patient and got him through it until he grew out of it. Dr. Ron took my frantic call one weekend after my son broke his front teeth. Dr. Ron fixed my son's teeth with additions, and they have held up extremely well! Both Dr's are caring and kind. I highly recommend them for all ages.

Dental Examination
After completing a thorough oral examination and assessing your child’s risk for developing cavities, we will design a personalized preventive program of home care for your child. This program will include brushing and flossing instructions, diet counseling and, if necessary, fluoride recommendations. By following these directions, you can help give your child a lifetime of healthy habits.

Teeth Cleaning
Tooth cleaning and polishing and fluoride treatments are all part of your child’s prevention program. However, there is much more. For example, we can apply sealants to protect your child from tooth decay and provide early diagnosis and care of orthodontic problems. We will develop a combination of office and home preventive care to insure your child a lifetime of happy smiles.
Fluoride Treatment
Dental Sealants
Preventive dentistry for children, in addition to regular dental visits, requires parental involvement with daily oral care at home. Children with a healthy mouths have a better chance of general health. Oral conditions can interfere with eating and adequate nutritional intake, speaking, self-esteem, and daily activities. Severe decay can affect growth and development. Children with dental pain may be unable to concentrate in school. A healthy mouth is more attractive, giving children confidence in their appearance. Finally, preventive dentistry can result in less extensive — and less expensive — treatment for your child.

Fillings
Unlike amalgam fillings, composite bonded fillings do not contain mercury, a substance which many people believe could have adverse effects on your health.
Resin Composite
Composite resin is an acrylic-based tooth colored material made out of glass and resin. Composite resin is a favored material used by dentists in tooth fillings and for repairing defects in the teeth. Although composite fillings tend to be a little more expensive than amalgam (silver) fillings, the obvious advantage is that it is difficult to distinguish composite from natural teeth. Composites are often used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important, but can be used on back teeth as well.
Veneers
A porcelain veneer is a thin shell of ceramic material placed over the natural tooth surface. The dentist will first prepare the tooth by removing a small amount of the tooth, to allow for the thickness of the veneer. Next the dentist will take a mold of the teeth and the veneers will be fabricated from the mold. Finally, the veneers are bonded or cemented to the natural tooth.
Crowns
A dental crown is tooth-shaped cap that is cemented over a tooth, in order to restore the tooth’s strength, shape and size, and improve its appearance. The crown will cover the visible portion of the tooth above and right at the gum line, once it is cemented into place.
Bridges
A dental bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. The bridge is cemented to the the teeth that are adjacent to the missing tooth or teeth.
Dental Bonding
Unlike amalgam fillings, composite bonding will not expand and contract with temperature changes, avoiding the risk of tooth fractures.

Root Canal Treatment
The root canal is the hollow space in the center of the tooth. It contains the nerve that provides the tooth with the ability to feel hot and cold. When the nerve becomes damaged from cavity decay or fractures, pain usually results. Bacteria can enter and multiply in the tooth, causing the pulp to die. The tooth must be treated or the pain can get worse, and infection can spread, possibly causing an abscess.

Dentures
A denture is an artificial set of removable teeth made of acrylic resin, sometimes combined with metal. Dentures replace missing teeth. Dentures can be either partial or complete. A partial denture serves to fills in the spaces made by missing teeth and prevents the remaining teeth from shifting position in the jaw. Complete dentures replace all of the teeth.

Dental Implants
Crowns are used to hold weak, broken or cracked teeth together to avoid further fracturing. Crowns are also used to support large fillings, attach a bridge, or cover discolored or deformed teeth. Crowns may also be placed over dental implants.

Oral surgery is a specialty involving the diagnosis, surgery and treatment of injuries and defects in the mouth, teeth, face, jaws and soft tissues of the mouth. Most extractions can be performed in our office, however sometimes we may suggest that a certain procedure requires a referral to an orall surgeon. An oral surgeon is required to obtain 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. An oral surgeon has specialized knowledge in pain control and advanced training in anesthesia to provide quality care with maximum patient comfort and safety in the office setting.
