Mt Pleasant Baptist Church

I went to this church for over a year and was happy there. However, when someone I was responsible for sending to prison started attending the church after his release, this obviously made me concerned, so I raised my concerns with the pastor and agreed to continue going, under the agreement that he would talk to this man and establish his true intentions for turning up there. Knowing this man well for 18 years and knowing what he had done and that he had never shown any remorse, I knew his intentions were malicious...why else would you go the same church as someone who reported your crimes to the police, who you know goes there and even more so when the church is miles from your home and you don't have a car!? I am all for second chances and believe in showing mercy, kindness and forgiveness, but I think there is nothing worse than someone who knows the bible back to front and uses the guise of christianity, whilst knowing that they are compulsively lying to people, that is not something to be ignored and insulting to God. However after a couple of weeks of waiting, with no action being taken, I decided to leave the church. That man has never shown any remorse and is now rising up in the church like nothing ever happened. He is even going to marry a woman in the church who has no idea what he has done in the past, and for who I am worried! The pastor took no notice of anything I told him and now this may be detrimental to an innocent woman. Furthermore, after leaving the church someone I was very close to had a breakdown and I encouraged him to go to church, not that church, just a church as I felt he would get support that he needed. He decided however to go to that church and ended up having some counselling there. I was so happy that he had actually gone there and was being supported. Sadly he later committed suicide, something that nobody was to blame for. However naturally when something like that happens you have questions. I was very distraught at that time and my mother contacted the church and left a message asking for someone to phone her back. Nobody responded. She then emailed them asking for someone to get in contact and got no response. This in my mind was such a hard hearted way to deal with fellow christians. I will never understand how they could ignore a fellow christian who needed their support, at a time like that! Some time later I wrote a letter to the pastor telling him how disappointed I was with the way he had handled things. Needless to say I got no response. However, I heard back through the grape vine that he had scoffed and laughed at my letter, with none other than the wolf in sheep's clothing! Sadly there is a serious lack of discernment and wisdom shown by the pastor of this church. I feel that it is more of a social club rather than a church and when you scratch the surface there isn't any real christian love and support there and that is very sad.
