Mike's Radiator & AC Service

They use to be a good and honest shop. For the last few years they have gone way down in my experience with them. On one occasion the owner looked at our vehicle and said the clutch on the compressor was bad and they could replace the clutch. He had someone call me the next day to give an estimate. The person quoted $1200 and said they needed to replace the compressor. When I told him the owner of the shop said they could just do the clutch, he said that he did not know what he was talking about.

My wife's SUV had a antifreeze leak so we took it to these guys. They said it was leaking at the bottom of the radiator, they fixed it plus fixed hood support. Happy me, we were out of there for about $111. Next morning antifreeze is all over the ground just like before. I thought they might have just overfilled it so we let it go. A week or more later wife is driving and the car overheats and no antifreeze. She drops it off again to them and now it needs a water pump and timing belt. Price $775.00. I ask the girl how can that be. She asks the guys and the younger one gets on the phone and I ask him why wasn't that found the first time? He gets real defensive as if I was questioning his integrity ( I wasn't) but also says he might have missed it ( I appreciated the admission). The older gentleman is in the background the whole time yelling that I can take it somewhere else if I don't believe them. I called a friends mechanic in the area and he told me the price was normal and agreed I should ask for some sort of credit for the original "fix". I called and asked for some sort of credit and they said no. They also stated they normally estimate high then come in lower on the price anyway so it may not be the full $775. I said ok and confirmed at least twice with the lady it would be $775 including tax. Well when done total was $821. No it did not come in under estimate, and did not include tax. Back to the requested credit. I own a small business and if I mis diagnose a problem or even if there is an impression that I did, I don't think twice about crediting my customer to ensure everything is square. Only positive was they finished it when they said they would. In the end the way I see it with tax and the other small repair they owe us about $100. Surely they disagree. Not a lot of money but we won't be back and we won't recommend to others unless they fix the situation. They are busy so I am sure they won't miss us.

Once you do business with Ken, you'll never go anyplace else. I'm from out of state, have lived here for five years and been searching for a good honest mechanic. I finally found one. Mikes Radiator/a/c. I am a woman and never feel taken advantage there. One repair turned out to be a lot less than they originally quoted me. They charged me the LOWER price even after I had agreed to pay more. They are thorough, honest and respectful. And ken isn't sitting behind a computer, his hands are dirty!! I can't thank these gentlemen enough for the great service they provide. Highly recommended!!

This place is great. My wife took her car to Pep Boys for the air cond. and she was told that she needed a new compressor and it would be $1500. I called Honda and they said the newer Honda compressors hardly ever go bad and it would cost about $850 if it was bad. I looked online and seen Mikes AC was rated very high so I thought I would give it a try. They fixed the problem, which was not a compressor, for $250. Pepboys down right lied to my wife because they figured they could pocket all that money from a female that doesn't no anything about cars. I don't know much either, but I'm glad she called me before she agreed to be taken.

This business was recommended as being honest, reasonably priced & a great place to take your car. I trusted him & he did a great job, very fair price, would highly recommend this business to anyone! Never again will I go into a shop, wondering if will be ripped off! Read in one of the reviews, he has been in business in Stuart for 30 years. Only an honest place of business would last that long...

I've been doing business with Kenny for years and have always received the best of service and fair prices. I send all of my friends and family there for their auto service and have nothing but good things to say about them.

My car was recently diagnosed with a bad AC compressor by two local shops. A friend told me to call Mike's Radiator and AC. They diagnosed my AC problem to be a simple $50 issue and I did not have to buy an entire compressor system. They told me they do not charge to diagnose problems which is wonderful.



I also found out that Mike's Radiator and AC, despite their name, does all other forms of car repairs. They operate their company the way things used to be a long time ago: Hard, honest, straight forward work. After my repair they thoroughly explained what they did and showed me the faulty part.



I will come back to Mike's Radiator and AC again and again because of this, not to mention they have been in Stuart for 30 years now. You do not last that long in the car repair business without doing a LOT of things right!

I've been going to Mike's Radiator and AC over 15 years and each time have had great service. Kenny, the owner and the other mechanics are knowledgeable and the prices are fair. I've been to other repair shops and been told I had major problems and then went to Mike's for a second opinion and did not tell them what I had been told by the other shop. I did not need that expensive work. They always look out for my best interest. The owner, Kenny and the other mechanics treat me like I was their only customer. Susan
