Applebee's

We went to Applebee's on 12/22/08 and have been to this restaurant (Stockton, Ca.) several times. The food is good and the atmosphere was always friendly and appealing. We have a tennis group of 8 to 10 people who frequently visit local restaurants after tennis for dinner, or lunch, and a cocktail. Needless to say, most of us are all talking at the same time and about different subjects. Laughter is almost always present. This may sometimes be chaotic for a food server, especially when the restaurant is very busy.

What prompted my review was our waitress, Amanda. We were seated appropriately, and she was neatly dressed, friendly and attentive. The manager, Saul, came by our table and requested if he could help us in anyway to just let him know. That was nice and we appreciated that. However, Amanda is what prompted this review. We were all having a good time and wanted this to be our Christmas gathering. Amanda came by promptly and patiently attempted to order our drinks. It was difficult to get our attention collectively because of all the fun we were having. Patiently she got our attention one by one and took our drink order. Our drinks were delivered and she, again, attempted to order our dinners. Once again she had to go through the same process, patiently answering all the questions with regards to what was on the menu.

Keep in mind, our group eats out frequently. Many of the questions asked by our group required answers that they should have already been known but were asked because they were simply not paying attention. Some of the same questions were repeated and had already been given an answer. Amanda was so patient, but yet direct in a nice way. She was nice but paid attention to business. Our group of ten made many requests and I observed how she handled everyone of them and responded to everyone of them correctly. She didn't miss a beat.

I have never been one to take the time to rate an individual or a restaurant. You have to understand, I was very much impressed by this young woman. I would normally be inclined to respond if I was mistreated.

I would very much appreciate it if you would forward our thanks to her from all of us. It is because of her excellent service and the manner in which we were treated that will prompt us to return to Applebees soon.

This info helped me find what i was looking for. I was able to find directions to this place and i was able to have the phone number right there with so that way if i got lost i had it . Great idea!
