Laser Eye Surgery

The â€œiâ€ in iLASIK stands for IntraLase which is a completely blade-free approach to LASIK vision correction. With iLASIK, a corneal flap is made using an ultra-fast, IntraLase femtosecond laser. Then an excimer laser is used to correct the vision to the patientâ€™s unique specifications through a technology called iDesign CustomVue Wavefront-guided LASIK. This is a truly custom procedure based on the patientâ€™s unique prescription and vision dynamics. Traditional LASIK uses a handheld device called a microkeratome to create the initial corneal flap, and uses the patients glasses prescription to determine the correction but with iLASIK, the procedure is a complete blade-free full laser procedure with a more customized visual correction.
