The Counter Top Guru

Sadly, my wife and I CANNOT give the same high high marks we found during our research and subsequent use of Countertop Guru. This is very disappointing because we do not understand why our experience was so very different. First let me state that we truly believe Winkhel (Owner/operator) is a nice individual and competent service provider, who is prompt and polite. However, the electrician (Jose), whom Winkhel stated was, "The only electrician he works with," was in my opinion extremely unprofessional. Jose was NEVER on time. The earliest he showed up was 45 minutes late. On at least two days/occasions, despite repeated phone calls and text msgs sent to him, Jose DID NOT show up at all. As I am a disabled veteran, who must attend physical therapy on an almost daily basis, and my wife works full-time, we can't work with a contractor who is routinely unreliable. When I asked Winkhel about Jose, Winkhel distanced himself from Jose, stating "Jose was a separate company." Finally, we had to hire another contractor to handle the completion of our kitchen, including electrical work and installation of our glass tile splash back above the countertop. This was a job Winkhel was going to do for us, but again, we had to hire another company to complete our kitchen. Also, we had Winkhel install an electronic Moen faucet, which is operated by touch and optic sensors. Much to our dismay, Winkhel threw out the instructions, which we still need to this day. Also, we specifically asked Winkhel to keep a piece of countertop from the stovetop or sink cut out to use as an additional option to protect the newly installed countertop. Winkhel was supposed to smooth and polish the edges of one of these pieces and return it to us, but it has been more than a month and we have not heard from Winkhel about this.



Due to the above circumstances, we CANNOT RECOMMEND Countertop Guru.
