Cheng's Oriental Restaurant

Prior to Cheng's opening, the finest restaurant in Loudoun County was Popeye's Chicken. Cheng's is one of the two best Chinese restaurants in the entire DC metro. I think it may be the very bast. Generally, if we want Peking Duck, we go to Duck Chang's in Annandale. Duck Cheng's was the first restaurant that did not require 24 hours notice on Peking Duck. Now, Cheng's Oriental Restaurant doesn't require notice either, and has really superb Peking Duck. The seafood at Cheng's is very fresh and expertly prepared. Crispy Shredded Beef is just amazing, though taking it home can take a toll on it. It is just fantastic when ordered to eat there. Orange Beef and Orange Chicken are both great, as is General Tso's Chicken. The rib appetizer is also great. We have been going there once a week to once a month for 28 years and we have yet to have a bad meal. Also of note, even when it is busy -- every table occupied, which happens all the time on Friday and Saturday -- the service is great. If you want a great show and a great desert, order the Bananas Foster. The Cherries Jubilee is also very good, and also has a great show, but I prefer bananas over cherries.. Both are prepared at the table. Order one and watch what happens. Others will order them after seeing the show at your table. I often think they should give away a free one from time to time because the orders just spread throughout the restaurant once people see the show across the room. They may well miss the prep, but no one can miss the huge fireball. This is one of my favorite places in the world, and I eat all over the country, and sometimes, the world. By the way, this is my first and only five star rating.

I am from New York and I can say this is one of the best chinese food I've tasted. They always make fresh.
