My sister has Stage IV breast cancer, causing spine, pelvis, and femur fractures. She spent a week at the "Lodge."
Kate also has epilepsy. Days elapsed with no meds after asking for them. She had a seizure before being given the drug.
When Kate needed to go, she pulled the cord. No one came after a half hour. She lay shivering in a bed of urine.
Another day when no one came, she rang me long distance. I called the front desk. No one answered. I called back. This time the front desk paged the nurse. Kate said the nurse stormed into her room angrily. Kate said she needed pain meds, begging for it while the nurse questioned her.
Once Kate was left in a wheel chair for 45 minutes. She had to deficate but no one came. She managed to wheel over to the bathroom, propping the door ajar. Then she tried swiveling herself onto the toilet. A passing aide said snottily, "See, you're able to go if you want to."
Another day, Kate was positioned so the cord was unreachable. She rang me. I called the desk. A snippy woman answered with 'This is the wrong desk' but transferred me. No answer. I called again. Someone picked up and hung up. I called again. A woman said she'd get help and finally Kate got a pan.
A woman cleaning her room, seemed put out by things fallen on the floor. Kate said her broken bones prevented her from getting them. Unimpressed, the woman kept shoving things under Kate's nose demanding to know what they were.
Kate told the hospital doctors of the conditions at Medilodge and how afraid she was of being sent back. Someone was sickened enough to notify her inurance company. They agreed to a different facility.
Medilodge descends to the lowest level of indifference and cruelty. You wouldn't treat a dog the way Kate was. The basic need of having to go wasn't met. She wasn't given epilepsy or pain meds in a timely way. She was left in urine-soaked clothing, scorned, disrespected by employees. Don't send your loved one to Medilodge.

I am an employee there. The owners do not care about the patients. As an example we had a patient come in with an infection apparently a severe one which she had been in a coma from at the hospital. Well, her dx was marked on as a simple UTI after she came in and so her dose of anti-biotic was reduced to a 1/4 of what it should have been. Her daughter was a nurse and caught the mistake a week later when the patient was getting worse again. After she threatened to complain they still took a week to fix the problem, and tried to blame the hospital, the pharmacy (which they own) and so on and never apologized. Don't let your loved ones go there.
