Overall

I have used Bunton-Lebe's almost exclusively for years. The owners are onsite and always available to speak with. Not sure about some of these comments, some people have older cars that in reality are on their last legs and expect mechanics to be miracle workers. They have always done great work at a fair price, and have several times suggested alternate means of repairing something that cost far less than I expected when I dropped my car off, and sometimes even that nothing needed to be fixed, a small adjustment needed to be made which I was not charged for.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIRS!!!

I took my car in for an overheating issue and left with paper towel in my cooling system. The car was there for three months. They never once called me about it to give me an update on how the repair was going and when I would call they would tell me that they needed to do something else to "fix" it. When I took it in I had already replaced the thermostat, reservoir tank (which included a new radiator cap), had the system flushed and then replaced the radiator.



After a week, I called them and they told me that I needed a new manifold intake. I really believed that this could have been the trouble since I had busted the seat in the bleeder valve while trying to bleed the system myself. I was able to purchase a used manifold intake along with new gaskets and brought it up to them to put on the car. They once again assured me this was the problem. A week and 1/2 later with still no call, I called them to find out that this did not solve the problem. Now I needed a new timing belt and water pump since my car had over 170,000 miles on it. I again believe that this might have been the problem and this time brought new parts to them to install...then I waited for the call. They never called.



When I called them, they told me that they came to the conclusion that it was either a blown head gasket or a cracked head without doing a pressure test. I immediately called another mechanic and had him come with me to pick up the car. Bunton-Lebes tried to bill me for a new thermostat, relay switch, and radiator cap but I never authorized this work and disputed the charges and they took them off my bill.



Today, my new mechanic found a PAPER TOWEL in a USED thermostat that they had switched for my NEW one. The new mechanic said that if this paper towel has gotten into my radiator and/or heads, it could clog up my entire system. He is now flushing my BRAND NEW radiator and finding several pieces of paper towel coming from the NEW radiator that was purchased in February of 2013!

The guys at Bunton-Lebe's are ...

The guys at Bunton-Lebe's are fair, honest and skilled. If you have a mechanical problem, they'll fix it quickly. If it's a complex issue, they'll stay on it until it's resolved to your full satisfaction. I recommend them highly.

BEWARE!!!!

PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS SHOP!!!! I took my car to them with a new radiator I purchased elsewhere, much cheaper than they were charging for one, and asked them to replace it. They quoted me a price, I agreed and left. I got a call later saying the radiator was not the problem but the water pump was. I agreed to have the water pump replaced and not do anything with the radiator. I would return it to where I purchased it since it wasnt the problem. He quoted me a new price and disregared all activities with the radiator. I get another call saying the car is ready, that he was taking one more test drive and would let me know if it is ready to be picked up. He calls back and says "oh, by the way, it wasnt the water pump, it was the radiator too, so now i have to charge you for both". WHAT!!??!! So now my price just doubled because HE WAS WRONG about the radiator to begin with. I didnt go there to have anything done with my water pump! He just threw that in there along with the radiator to get more money out of me! Then so after I paid double what I was quoted and got parts fixed that WERENT BROKEN, the car breaks down on my way to school THE SAME DAY!!!!! The 'experienced' mechanic didnt put the radiator cap back on right!! Even I can put a radiator cap on correctly!!! POOR WORK, EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! These mechanics are CHEATS and LIARS!!!! PLEASE PLEASE do not use their services! You will be charged more than you should, have parts replaced that arent broken and wont be able to find one person in that place that is willing to help at all!!!! Now, only a few short months after I get my car back from them and it breaks down the same day because of their shoddy work, I am now paying another mechanic to fix it because the car is leaking transmission fluid. I understand these things happen, but the mechanic working on it now informed me that the leaking fluid was caused because seals were broken WHEN THE RADIATOR WAS INSTALLED!!! this was done by BUNTON AND LEBES!!! so now, they are costing me even MORE money!!!!! Please dont use this shop!!! You WILL regret it!!!
