We rented a house on 318 Walnut Avenue in Mt Holly for over 1 1/2 years. The landlords that lived across the street are just raking the money and not doing a lot for the old house. Before we agreed to stay we asked for and were told that they would move the washer/dryer hook ups indoors by changing the linen closet into a stackable washer and dryer. That wasn't done when we moved in and we were told that it would cost too much money. We also asked that refrigerator be replaced since it didn't self defrost or have an icemaker and were told that they would do that. That didn't happen either and when I questioned the landlord she said the refrigerator was an extra benefit that they didn't have to supply and if we wanted a new one we would have to purchase it. Also we had three vehicles and a narrow driveway so I parked my truck in backyard. she came over next day and said we had to keep all the vehicles on driveway because it made the neighborhood look bad. there were houses on the street that had grass growing up around abandoned vehicles. The attic draft fan quit working and we were told that they weren't going to fix it. Three times the outdoor water spigot was spraying water out and they kept doing temporary fixes. Every time I don't know how many gallons of water sprayed out before they would fix it. When we turned in our 45 day notice to leave we cleaned the house up much better than it was when we moved in. The landlord starting raking up the leaves 2 weeks before we moved out and I went out and told him that we were going to do that before we left but he said he would take care of it. After we left we were told that we left some old furniture in the storage building outside and they were going to charge us $200 for disposal of it. That furniture was there when we moved in on the back porch and the landlord told me to just stick it in the building. Then they claimed they would have to charge us $200 for raking the leaves after we left which was a lie, he did it 2 weeks before we ever moved out. Then they said even if those 2 events were not our fault they were going to charge us $200 for removing staples on the porch where I had put up vinyl during the winter months to make the porch bearable to go out and wash the laundry. Finally, the realty agent was not very good in communicating with us. Numerous times I would have to call and text several times to get a response from her. she never answers her phone and might take several days to respond to voice messages or test messages. I would never recommend anyone staying in this house through the landlord or agent.
