        The number listed here is not for reservations or contacting the caretakers. 304-756-9012 is the number to reach the actually community center (for example to contact your party and let them know you're lost or running late). Use 304-756-2702 to reach the actual caretakers for reservations and facility questions. I have attended 2 events there and haven't heard anything bad from the persons organizing those events. I've also scheduled the building for my wedding. The price is far more affordable that other community center's and wedding venues I have looked into. It's not exactly glamorous, but it includes tables and chairs, and an onsite kitchen, picnic shelter and playground for the kids.

        NO SHOW DO NOT RENT HERE!!

        MY HUSBAND AND I HAD TALKED TO A LADY THAT WAS RENTING OUT THE GARRETTS BEND COMMUNITY CENTER TWO TIMES A WEEK BEFORE OUR LITTLE GIRLS FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY.I MYSELF HAD TALKED TO HER TO CHECK ON THE TIME TO MEET AND TO SEE HOW MANY TABLES ECT.. THEY HAD! WELL FRIDAY CAME AND SO HAPPY OUR LITTLE GIRL IS ONE, GOT THERE AND WE HAD SAT THERE OVER A HOUR WAITING FOR HER TO SHOW( SHE DIDN'T) NOT SO MUCH AS A PHONE CALL FROM HER...NOW COME ON PEOPLE WE HAD 25 + PEOPLE THERE WITH NO WHERE TO GO! HER CAKE WAS MELTED...ALL THE DECORATION LOST OUT ON....WE JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE OUR LITTLE GIRLS DAY WAS TURNING OUT LIKE THIS!!IT WAS SO UPSETTING!HER FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! I WILL NEVER RENT TO THIS PLACE AND ANYONE I NO WILL NEVER RENT HERE!!! SO IF YOU HAVE A SPECIAL DAY DO NOT PLAN YOUR PARTY HERE....

        I was to attend my great niece's first birthday party. This was to celebrate and spend time together with family and friends. I am amazed at how unprofessional the manager of the Community Center has been. The Community Center is a facility up for rent. That makes it a business. Not a "I'll show up if I feel like it" situation for the staff. My family spent a lot of money for food, party decor, etc. It is amazing to me that the woman representing the Center did not show up nor did she answer her phone after repeated attempts to contact her while we waited. Several of us traveled from Charleston or further only to wait over an hour with children expecting a party. Regardless of what this woman's excuse ends up being, she is operating a business and is responsible. If she can't be bothered to do her job, there are many out there that would LOVE to be employed right now. If she is a volunteer, then she needs to take up something else to fill her time that she has the skills to handle.
