The American College of Radiology (ACR), headquartered in Reston, Virginia is responsible for the accreditation of facilities for achievements of high practice standards. As a surgeon during World War II, Dr. Ben Fowler was asked to perform hand surgery on injured soldiers. They were provided specialized surgery centers, which became the birthplace of hand surgery.
