Called Detlan to come and pick on my mower for service as for some reason it stopped worked after having to jump off quickly in the middle of mowing. Nice enough when I called to set up the pick up of the mower asked how much it would be and was quoted $50. Received a call that they were on the way to pick up the mower and when the pick up driver got here to take the mower asked again about the issue. Told him to jump on and take a look and it turned out I had not check that the PTO was still on, so he turned it off and it started right up. So stupid mistake on my part. The pick up driver stated that I might get a bill for the pick up of $50 and told him I was more than happy to pay that since he had to drive out to my house. So got the bill a few weeks later and I am getting charged $111.30. Was told that was for the labor it cost the techs and that they were counting the time it took for them to get to my location and then was still charged $26 for a service trip job. So I will find anyone else to do business with other than this company. I was even thinking of using them to service my tractor for the future, but that bill sure turned my decision around. And having this bad experience noticed a few other complaints with service and bill so I should have done my homework before calling them in the first place. This company should learn that if they were nice to the customer they might improve profits, but I guess they are making enough screwing people over.

We've had a tractor being repaired here for over 2 months. Every time I call, they say it will be finished in a few days. Today I called and they said they didn't know what they were waiting on but it wasn't ready yet. COME ON!!!!

I agree whole heartedly with the other reviewers here, I had 2 older Stihl Chain saws in for a tune up", they charged me more than new saws would cost for both of them. over $460 in un-needed repairs with a huge amount of labor, they never called me to get approval for the large overage nor did they say anything to me when I called to check on status 2 weeks before they were ready. Their parts department also sold me incorrect parts for both saws on 3 separate occasions. I will never go back there again.

1 star is not low enough they did work on my commercial mower that I did not ask for

I left a mower there for a starting problem was quoted $529.00 for the repair I agreed to the work went in to pick up my mower when it was repaired and was charged $669.00 thats no way to do business will never spend another cent in that place I will now take my business to www.relittle.com for all my future john deere purchases if I even continue with john deere at all after this experience

The staff is rude. The service department does not return calls promptly. The owner does not care about his customers. The girl receptionist seemed really nice.



They charged me for services that were not requested and refused to return my tractor unless I paid for the charges.

POOR CUSTOMER TREATMENT. I've never been treated well in Detlan's over the years. I get better treatment in a dollar store. Recently, I asked my wife to pick up blades which I dropped off for sharpening. Set of 6 mulching. She only came home with 3. Upon returning, I told "Elmer" that this was the 3rd year in a row that I had to make a special trip because they didn't document the incoming blades and only returned half of them. He said "your wife should have asked for all of them". Are you kidding me? How about Elmer taking responsibility for attention to detail instead of blaming the customer. Take some pride in your work Elmer and try to appreciate your customers. Rather than blame the customer, why don't you create an incoming blade log? To add insult to injury, he wrongly thought the previous 3 blades were charged to low then realized he was wrong. Once again, Elmer didn't bother to check his work or facts before he opened his mouth. IF YOU WANT GOOD SERVICE AND TO BE TREATED WELL, DO BUSINESS AT ANOTHER LAWN EQUIPMENT SHOP.
