Claude Bernard graduated from Howard University with a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2013. Prior to earning his masters, he received an Athletic Training degree at Methodist University in 2011. He has gained valuable clinical experience in a variety of settings which include inpatient rehab, acute care, SNF, mental health, and sports injuries. Upon completion of OT school, he worked alongside his mentor in a hand therapy clinic where he developed skills in hand therapy, lymphedema therapy, and pediatric therapy. Since then, he has earned his certificate in hand therapy (CHT) and certificate in lymphedema (CLT). By working at the hand therapy clinic, Bernard developed the skills to combine his comprehensive knowledge of the upper extremity with functional treatments catered to each individual patient's need. In his free time, Claude enjoys playing basketball, fitness, traveling, and spending time with family.

Uyimeabasi “Uyime” Okon received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from SUNY Oneonta in 2015. She then went on to receive her Masters of Occupational Therapy from Trinity Washington University and graduated in 2021. She has clinical experience working with individuals with neurological, orthopedic, and psychiatric conditions in subacute and outpatient settings. Uyime strives to provide compassionate, individualistic care to each patient she encounters. In her free time, Uyime is a musician and she enjoys serving in her church and performing at gigs throughout the community. She also enjoys exploring new places, learning new cooking recipes, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic therapy is treatment of joint, muscle, bone, or nerve problems done in the water. Exercises to improve flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination are done under the instruction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The water's natural buoyancy supports the body and counteracts the effects of gravity. Activities are less straining and less painful than when performed on land. Exercises may be done in shallow water or in the deep end of the pool using a flotation belt. The head and neck are above water, and the body remains vertical for most activities. No swimming ability is necessary. Patients who are fearful of water may do many activities while standing at the side of the pool, holding onto the edge if necessary. Patients with a history of heart or blood pressure problems will be required to obtain clearance from their primary physician before beginning aquatic physical therapy.
Manual Therapy
PT combines passive modalities with therapeutic exercise to rehabilitate the spine and other parts of the body. Passive modalities include heat/cold therapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, massage, and joint mobilization. These modalities are not the sole treatment, but supplement therapeutic exercise. Active therapy, or therapeutic exercise includes stretching, strengthening, and postural modification to rehabilitate the spine and prevent re-injury.
