Dental Sealants
Inlays and onlays require two appointments. During the first visit, the filling being replaced or the damaged or decaying area of the tooth is removed, and the tooth is prepared for the inlay or onlay. To ensure proper fit and bite, an impression of the tooth is made by the dentist, and sent to a lab for fabrication. The dentist will then apply a temporary sealant on the tooth and schedule the next appointment.

Inlays and onlays are used to replace damaged areas of the tooth, and can be made of porcelain, gold or composite resin. An inlay, which is similar to a filling, is used inside the cusp tips of the tooth. Bridges
Constructing and attaching a bridge typically requires two or three appointments. At the first appointment we will prepare the teeth on either side of the gap by removing a portion of the enamel and dentin. Since the bridge must be fabricated very precisely to ensure correct bite and to match the opposing tooth, impressions of the teeth are taken and sent to a lab where the bridge will be constructed. Fixed bridges are typically cemented to the natural teeth next to the space left by the missing tooth. A pontic (false tooth) replaces the lost tooth. Crowns, which are permanently attached to your natural teeth, provide support for the bridge.

Root Canal Treatment
We want the entire procedure to be comfortable for you, so the first thing we'll do is make sure you're thoroughly numb. To get at the infection, we make an opening through the top of the tooth down into the pulp chamber. With a dental file, the infected tissue is cleaned out and the canals shaped to receive the filling material. X-rays are taken to make sure that all of the infected pulp is removed. Sometimes it's necessary to strengthen a tooth with a post. The post is cemented down inside one of the root canals. Making a crown is the last step in restoring your tooth. It protects your tooth and gives you back your smile.

After tooth extraction, it is important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. Although we may have placed a dissolvable material in the extraction area to assist with clotting, it is recommended that you firmly bite on a wet gauze pad for 30 to 45 minutes following the procedure. You should change the pad every 15 minutes.
