Clearly these are very old reviews because the school I attend is nothing like the oddly similar angry reviews previously posted. I joined Karate Unlimited about 2 years ago with my son and together we are approaching our brown belts. The dojo is clean with mats and all the equipment you could possibly need. The instruction is superior, the instructors passionate, and the fees are the fairest I have encountered. No long contract, no high pressure sales. The most honest place of business I have ever dealt with. Find out for yourself before you put any stock into negative reviews, because when you come it you will be pleasantly suprised.

I see they are still have the ...

I see they are still have the same business practices as they had when I signed my child up. They SCAM you into a contract, they running a very shady business. Their junior (non contract) program that they brag about is totally bogus. You are STILL signing a contract. So beware. I was taken for almost five grand in a contract in which I had NO idea I was signing. It is NOT a typical contract people. they are shady and I had a similar experience as the reviewer below me. Very similar...and they are nasty on the phone. Yet...super sweet when you walk in their door the first time, allowing you a FREE visit. Ha! I should have known walking in that it was a bad place. It had a foul smell, and the manager was very shady looking.

This place is about as a Bulls...

This place is about as a Bullshido McDojo as you are going to get! It’s a COMPLETE RIPOFF SCAM!!! This place will try to talk you into signing a 3 year contract which is a HUGE red flag!!! And they do it very deceptively! Any good Martial Arts school will not make you sign a contract for more than one year and they will offer a very fair way to get out of that contract by employing the 30 day notice clause.

My sister signed up there not knowing anything about McDojo’s and got robbed for $900!!! She tore a ligament in her ankle kicking the bags there and couldn’t continue. They would not let her out of that bogus contract. She had to get the police involved. Before she eventually prevailed, the company already hit her bank account several times (in a one week span) to the tune of over $900! They said she owed them $6,000!!!! Yes!!! You read that right! SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! She had only been there for 2 weeks!!!

Furthermore, what makes this school a McDojo is they have belt test fees (no good school will charge you for a belt test!), children black belts (earning a black belt is extremely difficult! Something children should not be able to do!), black belt clubs (black belt clubs are pure money makers, nothing more!), and a few other things.

Read this page or google “what is a McDojo” if you don’t believe me!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM SCHOOL AND McDOJO!!!!

We signed-up our son 4 & daughter 9 at Karate Unlimited about a year ago. I thought they would get bored and want to quit. Much to my suprise a year later they are both doing well my daughter is a greenbelt and my son is yellow. Much of the credit is due to the Masters & instructors! The school is clean and well maintained. One of the best things is their program is afforable too!

My daughter was looking at boxing for fitness. My wife and I thought that karate might be better for personal discipline, focus on school grades and self defense. My wife suggested Karate Unlimited wife suggested Karate Unlimited, we went over and we were pleasantly surprised our daughter liked it for boxing (a part of karate) and fitness, we liked the structure for focus on grades and of course what is better for self-defense than karate. We signed-up our daughter and she really likes going!

The doctor diagnosed me with arthritis and he recommended joining a gym or get into an exercise class. Been there done that and I hated it. I tried Karate Unlimited and really enjoy taking class. The instructors are very helpful and make me feel comfortable being there, I initially thought karate was only for the really young-I was wrong. This almost 50 year old is having a blast and my strength & flexibility is better, my doctors is pleased too! -Beth

I signed my 4 year old son up at Karate Unlimited about a year ago. At first he did, well but frankly after about 4 months he started to become distracted and inconsistent. The manager, Jim told this is not uncommon and my son would overcome this problem in time. I remember thinking at Jim did not know my son like I do but we both hung in there! About 3 months later my son started to improve in focus and concentration and now is very consistent. As Jim told me I know my son best but he knows kids at that age and how they with proper direction will overcome distraction. He has been progressing ever since. I am very pleased and highly recommend Karate Unlimited!

i.eI am a student at karate unlimited for the last 3 years. I am a brown belt close to becoming a brown senior. Yea it can be tough but it is all worth it. I use to be really shy but I am more friendly now my parents think karate did that for me. My grades in school are better and I am not afraid of some of the bigger kids that use to bully me before. The instructors and masters are great and they are working with me now to become an instructors aid so I can help them with class. I really like going to karate unlimited.

My son started karate at Karate Unlimited when he was 4. After about a year we moved because my husband had to relocate for his job. We signed up at another karate school where we lived, it was "OK"! That was 5 years ago; recently we moved back to Gloucester Township and we were please to find Karate Unlimited was still there and in a new facility too! The new place was really clean and well organized and like before Karate Unlimited has a lot of great instructors with the skills to really help my son, focus, avoid bullies, keep fit and just have fun. He is almost 9 now and loves karate more than ever. I want to thank Karate Unlimited!

I am Asian, I learned Tae Kwon Do in Korea many years ago. My wife and I were looking for a Martial Arts school for our son & daughter. There is a lot of mis-information taught by Martial Arts schools out there. I was very impressed with the teaching of Tae Kwon Do at Karate Unlimited. The instructors had a great command of the knowledge, techniques, information, history of Tae Kwon Do and other Martial Arts. The instructors skills at educating the students is very good. Ron P.

I went ot Karate Unlimited the place was clean and neat, so many karate places have a "gym smell", the manager, Jim was friendly and helpful. The price was not cheap but they were less than other karate places and well worth what my son is getting from going and well within my budget. I met the Masters and some of the instructors before I enrolled my son and they have been just as helpful after I signed-up my son-something you dodn't always see! My son has and is learning much, I highly recommend Karate Unlimited

Be Careful! They make you sign a contract for 3 yrs, reguardless if your child wants to continue to go or not, you have to pay. Most children that try Karate do not continue it for 3 years, so unless you are sure...just a warning, BE CAREFUL!

The person that runs the facility can be very offensive to women at times. Also, the place is smaller than the first place. Not really pleased with the hours especially if you work 9-5 Monday - Friday. Just not satisfied, the kids grew out of the hype quick.

i.e., AGreat Instruction, Clean Facility, Friendly Atmosphere! The instructors have many years of experience and are especially good with children! They also started my wife and oldest daughter in Adult Self-Defense and they love it! My son (who has ADD) and youngest daughter are doing great in Karate class. I even started class loosing weight while learning Karate. Check it out, have fun with the family, get into shape, learn Personal Protection!
