This was the most unprofessional and disrespectful office to do any business with. Horrible patient service. My family and I "WERE" patients of this facility until they would not take my sister who has special needs. When I initially set up the appointment, I explained to the receptionist that my sister is special needs and she proceeded to put me on hold to see if they would be able to see her. I was able to get her an appointment for 12/2014. They did the initial cleaning and x-rays and proceeded to get an approval to do a bridge or crown. Her insurance approved up to $10K for work to be done. After waiting for the approval we were finally able to get an appointment for Feb/March of this year after they called and said they received an approval to do the work. So, 2 days before, I received a reminder call and I stated yes we would be there, the day before I received a text message for another reminder. The day of the appointment we arrive 15/20 minutes early and waited until they called us to the front desk at 10 minutes before her appointment to tell me they would not see her. No explanation from them and the Dr. would not come to the front desk to give me an explanation. They said we are going to have to refer you to UIC and I said why is that? They would not give me an answer. Since they cancelled my appointment with no notification or good reason I demanded a copy of her chart and to have the x-rays emailed to me. I called the next day and left my name & number for the manager to call me with an explanation as to why they would not see her, to this day 4/14/15 I have not received a call back. This is the most despicable place I have ever been to. There is not doubt in my mind that the reason they would not continue her care is because she is a special needs patient. For them to go through the motion and get approvals and confirm her appointment on 2 separate occasions and then to cancel while she is standing at the desk was very DISRESPECTFUL. At this point I have decided to contact an attorney for discrimination against a special needs patient. I would have contacted the ADA except they are not members.
Horrible customer service! Also all they will try and do is take more and more money out of you without you needed to get work done. There staff changes all the time! And their current staff and not nice and pleasant to deal with. There work is also not high quality, they all rush and try and get you out of there right away. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Look somewhere else if I was you.
I made the unfortunate decision of choosing troy dental as the endodontist that did my emergency root canal when back visiting shorewood, il family. They did not come recommended, some of my family had a bad experiences with their dental practice and another one of their dentist but I was in pain and they could get me in very quickly. They completely botched the procedure, then hid behind their consent form that said "if we do anything wrong we are not at fault" and did nothing to rectify the situation. That 1500 dollar procedure ended up costing me 5500 out of pocket dollars in dental work after insurance dried up. And they were paid in full by my insurance company for completely ruining my tooth and forcing me to have to get an extraction. By far the worse choice for a dentist in shorewood, joliet or plainfield, il
ok took my girls here for a cleaning and check up...after about 45 min dental asst came out and asked me if my youngest had sealant on her teeth i didn't think so.. she left...after awhile she came out said they did sealants...noone explained what they were going to do or asked my permission...now to my 17 year old...still waiting and waiting could see her sitting there by herself from the waiting room...finally dentist came in...i can tell my daughter is very upset...dental hygenist says your daughter needs a root canal and crown...i was stunned..we have been seeing pediatric dentist since she was 2 with no cavities...i asked to speak to dentist ..he showed me a big brown decay area on her tooth said if you can see them they are deep and she needs root canal..this is after 2 1/2 of waiting...dentist was rude and put out he had to explain his decision to me.. hygenist did not speak one word to my daughter while cleaning her teeth..i took xrays to Dr. Thobani in Naperville for 2nd opinion,,,SHE DID NOT NEED ROOT CANAL OR CROWN AND THAT BROWN DECAY STAIN MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARED..TROY DENTAL IS A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE...DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ALL KIDS INSURANCE...CALL DR THOBANI IN NAPERVILLE...SHE IS AMAZING..CARING AND WAS GREAT WITH MY TERRIFIED CHILD
I went to this facility because it was in my insurance network and they had evening hours and Saturdays. What a big mistake. I had my 1st consult on a Saturday 9am, waited one hour. I had two fillings missing. After numerous xrays of one tooth, someone else came over to help the tech to take one that showed the entire tooth. I knew a root canal and crown were necessary. Was told that and agreed to have the root canal and build up of the tooth that day. It took 4 hours and after at least another 10 xrays of the same tooth a temp was put in and I went home.
I returned on a Thursday evening that I got off early from work to have a permanent crown placed on that tooth. After 2 hours of build up and drilling and getting showered by all the water overspray, my build up was finally finished. Dr asked me to bite down hard as a final check.... and then the entire permanent crown and filling, build-up and all broke off. LEAVING A MISSING TOOTH SPACE IN MY MOUTH. I was informed there was nothing left that could be done...extraction & implant or a 6 tooth bridge work on the enitre left side of my mouth. I have never been in such a position. Leaving the office with no visible tooth and a $5000 option to fix it!!!! After I got home and the shock of looking at the missing tooth and my insurance payment already made what choices do I have. What have I learned? TO READ REVIEWS AND ONLY GO TO PERSONALLY RECOMMEDED DENTIST. DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY IF YOU HAVE ANY DENTAL PROBLEMS. Is there a -(minus) rating that can be given.
I was there for my dental work and I didn't like them. The estimation was way off from their actual charges.. The staff didn't know to explain my charges! They made me wait (I was waiting at least 1/2 hr before they called me in) every step of their process. The excuse they gave me was "over booking problem with Ashton dental". My dentist Meera Narasimhan was always in hurry. I saw a bill and it said they did a filling on a tooth which was not part of the problematic ones! The dentist didn't even tell me before even fixing it. Once the work was over, they just left without any instructions. I am planning to visit another dentist to verify the work they did on me.
