The Yoder Agency has been a fixture in Shipshewana since its inception in 1963 by Orris Yoder. In 1968 the agency was sold and became the Robert Lambright Insurance Agency. In the early 1970s, Gerald Mishler bought the agency and continued the practice as Mishler Insurance Service, Inc. until Roger Yoder purchased the agency. Yoder operated the business from 1988 to 2009 as Yoder Insurance Agency. A new chapter began in the history of Yoder Insurance Agency in 2009 when Brent Hoober and Hummel Group formed a partnership and purchased the agency from Roger Yoder.
