The Dog Resort

I have an unruly yet adorable Beagle named Snoopy that is the light of my life. He is family, my child so to speak - a sentiment that can be appreciated only by fellow dog lovers. Snoopy is a rescue who had a very hard life before we found each other. He was shuffled from place to place and left outside, tied to a tree for weeks at a time.



Anyone who owns or has owned a Beagle knows that they require the attention of their owner regularly. If they don't get it, they howl with a tone that sounds as if they are the saddest most neglected dog in the world.



Snoopy was with me 24/7. There were two reasons for this: the first is that I loved him and wanted him with me. The second is that when I left him alone for any length of time, I would undoubtedly return to a noise complaint affixed to my front door or worse, the police in my driveway investigating a disturbance.



In any case, as much as I would like to take him everywhere I go, there are places and times when his presence is not permitted nor welcomed. Hey, if I had my way, dogs would be allowed in restaurants, but that's me. I love, love, love dogs! They make the world a better place as far as I am concerned.



So, when I found myself needing a caretaker for Snoopy during the day or over the weekend, I searched for a place that I knew would love and care for him in a manner commensurate with dog lovers. I worry about my baby when he is not with me, so to feel that he is as happy, safe and loved with his caretaker as he is with me, is really important to me.



I tried out The Dog Resort because they had excellent reviews and offered a free trial day. I am a busy person so I found their on-line booking system very easy, efficient and conducive to my busy schedule. I filled out the application and reservation forms on-line and received a confirmation within 10 minutes.



I left a message the night prior to Snoopy's daycare trial day because I wanted to know what I needed to bring - having never brought Snoopy to daycare before - I had allot of questions. I was amazed to find my call returned within 5 minutes of leaving a message. It was 11 at night!



Every dog parent thinks their dog is perfect just the way they are. Well, Snoopy is perfect indeed. However, he is also loud, needy and high maintenance. He isn't all that social either. He also has a tendency to mark a place that has other dogs nearby. It is really embarrassing to say the least.



On his first visit to The Dog Resort, he trotted in and proceeded to lift his leg on their wall. To my surprise, they made me feel comfortable about it and quickly cleaned and disinfected the area. There was a love and passion for dogs in the way they operated. I noticed that Snoopy connected with the staff right away and left my side - or should I say - forgot about me- which is unusual.



Anyway, The Dog Resort won Snoopy over from day one and he looks forward to spending time there. He has become more independent and social with other dogs and his manners have improved considerably.



The staff put dogs first. They focus on giving my dog joy and a great experience rather than on getting as much money from me as they can. Their prices are modest and fair and the value and quality of service and care they give Snoopy makes them the best doggie daycare in the world as far as I am concerned.



If you are looking for the best care and experience for your dog for a reasonable price then The Dog Resort is the place to be.

Very clean, very professional and respectful people. Calm and responsive to the needs of both dog and owner. Great facilities for day care and overnight boarding.

Good kennel services provided here from day care to grooming, this is the place to go.

I have been boarding our three dogs since The Dog Resort opened. We are so pleased that we have such a fine place in which to leave our 3 babies, and consider it their home away from home.

My one year old Bichon, absolutely loves his play days at The Dog Resort. He has a blast, it's great exercise, and I've noticed a real positive change in his self-confidence and socialization skills. Little dogs rule!!

My dog has boarded with The Dog Resort twice this year. I love the kennel space and activities available here. It feels great to know when my family vacations, my dog gets to vacation too. We get to interact with different people on vacation while he boards. However, he gets to interact with other dogs while enjoying his vacation at The Dog Resort.

I would like to thank The Dog Resort for their loyal, compassionate, trustworthy care for my dog. My dog adores spending time at The Dog Resort and has the time of his life on a daily basis.

I have been living in the area for a while with my seven year old Cockapoo, Cocoa. As my days got longer at work, dog daycare was my only choice, which is something I wasn't too comfortable doing since she is the love of my life. The Dog Resort won over Cocoa's heart and is even like a puppy again.

Over the course of the past year, I have entrusted two whippets and a German shepherd to The Dog Resort every time I travel. I have only experienced caring, attentive and professional attention from their staff and owners, who are very hands-on with the business. They stay in touch with you by phone if there are any concerns (better safe than sorry). They pay special attention to older pets and make sure they are comfortable and happy, away from more boisterous youngsters that might create stress or anxiety. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this business to anyone, they are FANTASTIC.

I absolutely love The Dog Resort! I've tried many places around Seattle and The Dog Resort is the only place that my dog seems satisfied and happy with. There is plenty of space and land for the dogs and the staff is so great and caring.

Tawny & Rusty have missed their weekly daycare visits to The Dog Resort and will be absolutely ecstatic when they learn that they'll be going back to The Dog Resort on a regular basis starting in November! They absolutely love spending the day here! Tawny literally drags me down the block when she realizes where we're headed.

Love the staff and care my Golden Doodle gets at The Dog Resort. I have a high energy dog and this facility allows her to get the exercise she needs while boarding there.

The staff takes excellent care of my baby! They definitely have a passion for dogs and do a great job of keeping control of what could very easily be a chaotic situation. I know she loves it too because every time we drive by she gets excited! When we drop her off she is happy and when we pick her up she is also happy! Great place to take your dog!

The best part about this place is picking up my dog and seeing how tired she is and just passes out for the rest of the night. It's a great way to make sure she has plenty of opportunities to socialize with other dogs and also not worry about her for the day. Doggie day care has also given us an easy way to figure out what to do when we go away for vacation. No trying to find someone to pet sit, or try something risky and worrisome, like a dog kennel. Instead, we know she is happy and cared for and it's all so affordable. Another great thing they offer is Doggy Excursions which we will be trying soon.

Took my little dachshund here for a doggie meetup today, so i thought i would review the place!! If I were reviewing it solely based on where we were (in a smallish outdoor fenced area with no grass/ nothing for the dogs to play on) I'd probably give it three stars....But since i try to be fair, I'll rate it based on what I observed in the whole place and how the staff members I met acted.The Dog Resort seems like a really cute place for pets, and has some fun indoor areas for doggies to play and individual indoor sections (not kennels hooray!) they can stay in overnight. Seems like a nice facility, and I know they have a great following in town. anyways, my pup had fun,and that is worth the five stars to me :)

I was recently in a car accident resulting in a neck injury, so I had to find a safe, loving place for my year old puppy to stay while I recovered. After talking to a wonderful young lady on the phone, Tiffany from The Dog Resort in Lake City, I knew this was where I wanted him to stay. I did not know then by bringing him there it would also change my life. Upon my arrival I was beyond pleased with how helpful they were to make sure I didn’t further injure myself by unloading my car and helping with my puppy. I started off wanting to have him there for a few days and then someone would care for him afterwards. Being injured I am not able to work which means a limited amount of funds and a prayer that something would work out and someone would help. Each night I prayed for an angel to come and help us. I was tired and heart broken after countless people bailed out on me after saying they would help. So I came back to the one place that my puppy was sad about leaving and excited to return to. After explaining to Tiffany that I was back again because no one came through. I was placed on the phone with the owner of The Dog Resort, Mona to see if she had any ideas. My blessing and angels were Mona and her staff that night. Their compassion and love for animals is evident in how they treat everyone that walks through the door. In addition, to sincerely wanting to be there for someone like me that was searching for help. I had never met Mona but the love was heard in her voice. Mona gave me the greatest gift and blessing I could’ve asked for…she was going to have my puppy stay at The Dog Resort for FREE!! Until I have recovered to care for him myself. Tears of joy can not begin to describe how I felt after finally knowing he was in a loving place with no worries of having to choose whether to care for my puppy or to pay bills. Mona and her staff will always have a place in my heart and I will be letting everyone know that I wouldn’t trust my puppy’s care to anyone but them. They get a 15+++/10 from me for their outstanding service.
