Overall
I have been a customer of Slav...

I have been a customer of Slave To The Needle and have been having a full sleeve worked on by John Fitzgerald. Well a few months ago, my wife and I stopped in an put up a $100 deposit for some more work on it. We set an appointment for a Monday at 5:30 a couple of months down the line where I was to get a few hours of work done on it and discuss the next phase of the work.

It is the day before my appointment and I need to reschedule.I call up the day before to reschedule. A female receptionist answers the phone and I explain that I need to reschedule. She tells because it is now 7PM when I am calling and my appointment if for 5:30 PM I would lose my deposit to reschedule because I did not give 24 hour notice. Really I say, because I just spent several thousand dollars here on a piece that is on going work you are going to take my deposit because I called in 22.5 hours before instead of 24 hours? I tell her, I will be at my appointment at 5:30 and this is pretty screwed up.

Funny I think to myself because I have showed up at my appointment on time and John Fitzgerald has been running behind and once he was still working on some girl when it was my appointment and I was late for things because of it. I can accommodate his shop by being patient but they cannot accommodate me because I called a couple of hours late and it is more important to make that $100 now than to keep me happy and make a several thousand off me later.

So I show up at my appointment at 5:30 and John is still working on someone, I figure he is just finishing up. He walks out from behind the counter and tells me he got a call last night yada yada....So I tell him I am not happy with the customer service here and was surprised that they would snivel over 1.5 hours of time and a hundred dollar deposit after how much money we spend there. He then goes on to raise his voice at me and give me a speech of how I am not respecting their employees because I said they were sniveling about the deposit. Wow. Since when do you yell at a paying customer? I mean I was being pretty calm about things given the circumstances. And then the guy who does the piercing over there was behind the counter defending their position on with a raised voice and abrasive tone.
Then John tells me that if the receptionist would have just called I would not have dinged you for the deposit but she was just doing here job. He then goes on to tell us that no matter what he would take care of me because he has been my artist for a long time, yada, yada and he would do anything to make it up if we would have just talked to him. Well she did not call you, instead she just made it so I either show up or I lose my deposit.

Well I showed up and they tell me that they cancelled my appointment.

i drove 73 miles and they went ahead and cancelled it because the receptionist obviously cant understand anything I said to her in the phone conversation we had the night before.

I am now a little ticked off by everything and now I want my deposit back. I did not receive any service and they totally screwed up on their end then perhaps the thing to do is just refund the customer his deposit and apologize.

Well that is when John Fitzgerald started insisting that I called and cancelled my appointment and offered to split the deposit with me?Give me $50 of it back. I showed up for my appointment and your company cancelled when I gave no such authority to do so.

All this after he just gave me a big speech of how I was an important customer and you would take care of me. I mean you really think you deserve money from me without rendering a service? Did you not just tell me earlier you would not have dinged me for my deposit.

I will never spend another dime at this shop ever again. I have an unfinished piece and there is no way in hell I am going to let an artist ink me that cant even treat his customers properly. I will find someone else to finish the job

Been there several times already!

I got my lobes pierced in late March 2008 (my first piercing), my nostril pierced in early June, my lobes stretched in early June, and my rook and conch in late July. Each visit was easy to schedule and pleasant. Appointments are very easy to get, I've scheduled two of mine on the same day.
