Seattle Obstetrics & Gynecology Group is an all-women partnership of board certified OB/GYN physicians, nurse practitioners, and midwives. We provide exceptional, full spectrum obstetric and gynecologic care in the Pacific Northwest.

Abdominal surgery may be necessary for the the treatment of endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian issues and hysterectomy if not able to be done in minimally invasive fashion.

The midwives at Seattle OB/GYN are certified nurse midwives (CNMs). A CNM is a registered nurse with an advance graduate degree in midwifery. Each CNM is board certified and licensed in the state of WA. CNMs are trained to provide care for women throughout the women’s lifespan and focus on pregnancy and childbirth.
Labor and Delivery
The midwifery model of care is well-known for supporting unmedicated childbirth, but CNMs have the ability to prescribe pain medication, including epidural anesthesia during labor if you desire.

Congratulations! We recommend scheduling your first OB visit 8 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual period. We recommend being seen at this time for the most accurate dating by ultrasound.
Radiology
We may recommend and order a "formal" ultrasound performed at the radiology department or certain indications that cannot be completed in our office.

Cyst Removal
Laparoscopy is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia. It is a surgical procedure in which a thin telescope in placed into the abdominal cavity. Tubal sterilization, ovarian cyst removal, endometriosis treatment, and hysterectomy procedures are examples of procedures using this technique. A laparoscopy is also used to help diagnose problems.
Hysterectomy
This may include treatment of prolapsed, vaginal hysterectomy, Sacrospinous Vault Suspension, bladder issues and Monarc sling procedures
Endometrial Ablation
Endometrial Ablation is a procedure performed to eliminate or greatly reduce menstrual bleeding. There is the NovaSure method which uses heat. It is a minimally invasive procedure that destroys the uterine lining. (www.novasure.com)
