The New River Health Association, also known as NRHA, is a nonprofit, community-owned health care organization. It serves patients in Fayette, Nicholas and Raleigh counties in West Virginia. The organization provides preventive and self care management and health education services. The New River Health Association offers primary care, women s health, family planning, breast and cervical cancer screening and osteopathic manipulative therapy services. It also provides mental health care, substance abuse counseling, X-ray, laboratory and pharmacy services. The organization conducts childbirth education classes and youth development activities. Founded in 1978, the New River Health Association accepts private payment, as well as insurance plans from Medicaid, Medicare and Tricare. The organization maintains one of its locations in Scarbro, W.Va.
