Where do I even begin? My wedding date was set for Oct 2016, I ordered my dress in December 2015 and was told I would be getting my first fitting around July 2016. Well…July, August and September came and there was no dress. I was constantly trying to contact Kristen to get a status and just about every conversation with her was a complete run around. She never took blame for anything that happened and always put blame on the vendor (Hayley Paige). My dress finally came in around Mid-September and still needed alterations and custom work done. She was also supposed to work on my veil and that was never completed. I scheduled an alteration appointment with her and when I walked in there was another bride complaining about the same issues. At that point I ended up taking my dress to another alteration specialist because I couldn't deal with the nightmare anymore.
And I’m not even done yet…2 of my 7 bridesmaids placed orders with her for their dresses and guess what...they never came in! It’s safe to assume that they were never ordered. My 2 girls ended up having to scramble and call about 10 stores around the island to find where they can get similar dresses. Kristen never had an explanation for this. She did give me back their money of course, but 2 weeks before my wedding my bridesmaid had to make miracles happen. The ended up buying different dresses from what they originally picked, off the rack and double the price tag.
It was such an upsetting experience. My first 2 visits there were super easy and fun, but once she had my money she didn’t care anymore. The store is ALWAYS closed; they don’t answer emails and she always has some story to tell you. This is not the way to run a business, especially a BRIDAL business.

After looking at 6 different bridal shops, I was begining to think I wouldn't be able to find my wedding gown until I found the perfect gown at theatora. From the moment I started working with Nikola and Kristin I felt like a princess. Our initial appointment was wonderful and both girls actually listened to what I was saying and got to know me as a bride, unlike the other places who rushed us in and out. We were the only ones in the shop at our first appointment and each one after, which really helped because I get overwhelmed easily in large crowds. My bridesmaids also ordered their gowns there because they offered a discount since I bought my gown there. The dresses arrived and were beautiful!!! Our alterations went well and marchella the seamstress was pleasure. The only downside with alterations was that it was a very limited alterations schedule and sometimes difficult to get the days and times we needed. Tricia dressed me and my girls the day of the wedding and steamed everything out right in our hotel room. It was such a relief to have her there the day of our wedding and not have to worry about bringing the gowns in ourselves. I would recommend this shop time and time again. The service was incredible and my sister is getting married next year and has already booked her appointment at the october Hayley paige trunk show :) Thank you to the lovely ladies at Thea tora

This bridal boutique is wonderful! I brought in a beaded dress to be altered and Shannon did a perfect job. No delays no problems at all. So refreshing! Kristen is great and very sweet! I will recommend Thea Tora for their gowns and alterations!

What a great experience! After having my eye on one particular Hayley Paige dress, I knew I had to try it on before saying yes to any other gown. I grew up on Long island but currently live in MD. Thea tora was the only boutique within both states that had this dress, the amazing reviews didn't hurt either. I was not disappointed! Kristin was super sweet and accommodated my large group. She was mindful of my budget and pulled a few more dresses she thought I'd like. Well... it didn't take a few dresses. I tried my dream dress on first and that was it! You definitely need to visit Kristin at Thea Tora!

I found my bridal gown here! I chose a Hayley Paige gown during her trunk show at thea tora last december. I had an appointment with the owner and she was very helpful and figured out a way to get my dream dress and accessories on my tight budget and in a short time. I also got a free veil. Everytime I go to this shop it has been a nice experience, very calm and organized. Other bridal shops in the area were busy and brushed me aside to other sales girls. I like that this shop you deal with one person from start to end. While picking out the dress, I loved a belt that they had in the store, but after talking to my mom about it, we decided to use the money towards something else (like I said, tight budget), but when I picked my gown up the night before my wedding, the belt was in there with a note from the owner saying "Caroline, I know how much you loved this belt, you are such a sweetheart and deserve to "sparkle" on your wedding day, so here is my gift to you! Best wishes on your big day, Kristin". It was soo thoughtful and meant so much to me, I am so happy with the service and of course my gown, I would recommend this place time and time again!

I just bought my wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses here! what a breath of fresh air this little boutique is!! I have been to just about every shop on LI and couldn't find what I was looking for, until today! (sorry for all of the exclamation points, but i have been looking for months and I am very excited to have finally found "the dress'')



I felt like royalty from the minute i walked in, Kristin was so welcoming and friendly. I felt like i was chatting and shopping with an old friend. She really took the time to get to know me and what I wanted and what was important to me. Her designs are beautiful, classic, and you can tell she puts everything she has into her gowns and her store. She really listened to what I was saying, rather then rushing me along like I had experienced with soo many other bridal salons. I also liked that together we looked at every gown in the shop and I was able to have full say in what I tried on... I hate when the sales girl picks for you! I also enjoyed the fact that I could see the gowns on the rack and that they weren't hidden away in plastic bags. I was given time to process whether or not I wanted the dress as Kristin stepped outside to give us a moment to talk rather then pressuring me to make a fast decision. I wound up getting a one of a kind couture thea tora gown for under $2000, the best part is that they custom fit it to you and its included in the gown price!! unheard of! Also, I got a free handmade veil to match ,y gown because I ordered on a trunk show day.

After my gown, we tried on a few bridesmaids dresses and picked one . A black lace and chiffon jim hjelm occasions.

A great experience overall.

Lovely little boutique! Friendly staff, excellent customer service, and a nice selection of gowns! I will be recommending this little hidden gem to everyone!

I first stumbled upon Thea Tora Bridal while walking around Main street in Sayville with my mother, being engaged for nearly a year and not yet having a dress, my mother nudged me to go in and look. Having gone to numerous bridal shops on long island and in Manhattan I knew that just walking into a bridal shop with out an appointment was a big no no... but my mother insisted that we just pop our heads in and browse quick. We were immediately greeted with a smile by the owner Kristin, who was warm and bubbly. She was with another appointment at the time and instead of shooing us away she asked if we would grab lunch in town while she finished up with the bride she was with and even called the cafe down the street and reserved a table for us! That was only the beginning of the top notch service we experienced!! We eventually returned back to the shop and began trying on gowns. Kristin's experience and bridal knowledge was extensive and it shows! She knew exactly what would look great and explained every fabric and detail on each gown thoroughly. After trying a few gowns I had found "the one"! The service during the appointment was incredible, they only allow one bride at a time so you don't feel rushed, and the shop itself is quaint, warm, and tastefully decorated.. very simple, not overwhelming like most shops i had been to. THe best part is that the customer service didn't stop at the end of my appointment, When I finished my alterations and picked my gown up a few days before my wedding, it was pristine, on a custom bridal hanger, the gown had my wedding date sewn into the inside of the dress in blue, the same color as my bridesmaids. Kristin even remembered me talking about my grandmothers ring that i wanted to keep with me on my wedding day and had sewn a small pocket on the inside lining of my gown for me to slip her ring into, so it was close to me all day! Amazing!
