Chiropractic doctors practice natural, drugless, non-invasive health care and rely on the body's ability to self-heal. Sounds ideal, but just how does it work? Natural Health and Wellness looks at the whole picture. Like other health-care providers, chiropractors follow a standard routine to gain information about the patient. Chiropractors consult, review the case history, conduct a physical examination, and we may request laboratory analyses and/or x-rays. Unlike other health-care providers, however, chiropractic physicians also conduct a careful analysis of the patient's structure and pay particular attention to the spine. We also ask you about your life, such as: What does your diet consist of? Exercise routine? Your current stress levels? Do you have children? What do you do for work? And so on. Using this information, a diagnosis is made. Included in the diagnosis is the probable reason for your pain or discomfort or lack of good health. It is important to note that chiropractors seek the origin of the illness in order to eliminate it-we do not just simply treat the symptoms. If your roof is leaking, do you simply catch the drips in a bucket for years on end, or do you repair the roof to prevent it from leaking? Similarly, if the migraine headache you've had all week is being caused by a misaligned vertebra and an irritated nerve, do you continue to take pain killers indefinitely, or do you realign the vertebra to prevent the pain? You get the picture. Chiropractors have a term for spinal misalignments: Vertebral subluxations. A vertebral subluxation is a misalignment of the bones that protect the spinal cord. It's a leak in the roof. Or a kink in the wiring of your nervous system. The severity of the subluxation can vary, and there are a number of potential contributing factors that can be physical, emotional, mental, or chemical. The subluxation can be caused by any number of incidents: from birth trauma, auto accidents, simple repetition or over-use, to stress overload.

        My wife's sister goes to Dr. A...

        My wife's sister goes to Dr. Allred. She mentioned that my wife gets regular headaches and Dr. Allred told her that he gives a $200 check once a month for potential patients to come in. My sister-in-law gave the check (made out to Natural Health & Wellness for $200) to my wife. My wife figured that for $200 she could go in and get checked out. She went in this past Wednesday and when the initial appointment was over, with a massage, they said it was $290 and that she owed $90. She paid the $90 on the spot. Dr. Allred's recommendation was to come back with your husband and go over the x-rays. My wife returned today, and after receiving a recommendation from Dr. Allred to come in for regular treatments at about $1000 per month, (approximately 10 visits per month @ $120 each) my wife said we couldn't afford it and no thanks.

        Then, after turning down further service, Dr. Allred told her that he had miss billed her at the first visit and that she owed another $200. She didn't know what to say and paid the bill on the way out the door. She then called me as soon as she got out of his office, crying and said she had just been ripped off.

        I called Dr. Allred's office immediately, got on the phone with Dr. Allred and told him I felt he had just ripped off my wife. We bantered back and forth with him chuckling arrogantly at me. At one point I said, "unbelievable" and he hung up on me. I called his office back and had to leave a message. He later called me back and we talked. I told him I felt he had done a "bait and switch" and had misled my wife and over charged us $200. I asked him to credit us that amount and he said "no way."

        So for $490 you can go see Dr. Allred, get a consultation, an exam, 4-xrays, no adjustment and a bad taste in your mouth.

        Dr. Allred and the crew at Natural Health and Wellness rock!

        I'm no stranger to shoulder pain. I've dealt with a stabbing pain in my upper-back and shoulder since my senior season on the swim team (in high school, not college). The trainers would wrap it and try everything from heat to ice and compression -all to no significant effect-. Less than a year after starting with Dr. Allred I am pain free.



        His staff are friendly, experienced and professional. My appointments are always a joy. This and more make Dr. Brandon Allred THE Sandy Chiropractor. Give him a try, you won't regret it!
