Padre Gardens Apartments

The whole complex should have a giant "out of service" sign hanging above it. Everything is either broken or barely hanging on. The units themselves don't appear that bad on the surface. Very spacious with all the appliances ( except washer/dryer). However, it has not been updated since the 1970s besides the carpet and appliances. It has popcorn ceilings and all. They also do a bad job cleaning apartments, my apartment selled like smoke for months and I kept finding cigarettes everywhere. I don't know how the office manages to function with the obvious chaos and disorganization that goes on. Yes, they did add two new pieces of equipment to the gym: Gold's Gym bar hang and a universal gym to replace the badly broken other one (I should have taken a picture of it, it was an accident waiting to happpen.) However they never replaced the treadmills that broke and they shut down the gym for an entire week without notice for their holiday party that the office had for themselves. In other communities the office has a party for the residents as well. Heck, in some complexes they even have fun community events. This complex is also literally falling apart at the seams. The carpets in the halls are god awful and full of stains. The walls and ceilings have visible cracks and the doors to the outside rarely work properly. The elevators are so bad that a cop I saw in the hallway (after tending to my neighbors) said he thought he was going to be stuck in it. One night I was on the elevator and it skipped two floors. It was kinda scary. Also, a lot of parties and all the drunk behavior that goes along with it. Kids are not a problem here, I think they mostly just stay inside because there isn't anywhere safe for them to play. Dogs run all over this complex off leash like their owners own the common areas.i saw a young boy knocked to the ground by a schnauzer as the owner just stood there. It's ridiculous. Nobody cares here.
