John C. Kim, MD, is a board-certified occupational medicine physician who specializes in treating and managing work-related injuries, illnesses and diseases.Before joining UC San Diego Health in 2009, he served as an occupational medicine physician with a Navy environmental and preventive medicine unit. He also served as medical department head and undersea medical officer for Naval Special Warfare Group One Support Logistics Unit in Coronado, Calif. He held a similar position for the 3D Reconnaissance Battalion 3D Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan. In addition, he served as a physician mentor at Camp Eggers in Kabul, Afghanistan.Dr. Kim completed his residency in occupational medicine at UC Irvine and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
