A Plus Truck & Car Rentals

DO NOT rent from this company!!! The first car they gave me had near bald tires. They then gave me a second car. This car was a 10 year old Buick with 73000 miles and no proper child tethers for the kids seats. I returned the car 1 hour later and demanded a refund. Clerk said I had to call Tom or Maria to get my refund. They then charged my credit card and never answered the phone. I called AMEX and they called the company. Got my $$ back!! I believe that the vast majority of their vehicles would not pass a safety inspection. While back at the rental lot another man returned his vehicle. He told me he just rented it and the tires were completely bald and the car "shook" when it made a turn or hit a bump. I looked at his tires and my kids stroller had more tread!! These people are dangerous and someone should shut them down before they kill a family!! I will be reporting them to the tourism division of the California government and I encourage anyone else who has had a similar experience to do the same!!!

A Plus Truck & Car Rentals is a scam that must be stopped by every person that is contacted by them. Everyone that is contacted by this company must file a complaint.

Everyone that pays this company off are only enabling them to do this to someone else.



Craigslist has removed several of the A Plus Truck & Car Rentals ads after users have flagged them as a scam.



DON'T PAY ANY MONEY TO THE COMPANY AND KEEP FILING COMPLAINTS!!!!

A plus car rentals is without a doubt the worst rental car company ever. I found them on carrentals.com and initially thought their prices were good so I reserved a car with them. When I arrived at their downtown location, my first impression was " what a dump." More so, their cars are absolute garbage. First car i checked had bald front tires with uneven wear on them. Better yet when i went to roll down the front window it fell into the door. Second car i checked had one tail light out, check engine light on, and was low on every fluid. What kind of LEGITIMATE rental company allows cars in these conditions to be rented by customers. The icing on the cake was the service rep who has playing dumb down to a science, and the manager on the phone who lies pathologically. So, be forewarned, their are lots of legitimate car rental companies in San Diego from which to rent from. Don't deal with these CROOKS.

My parents rented a car from A Plus Truck & Car Rentals. They opted to buy insurance but "Joe" the clerk refused to make any note of this purchase on the receipt even when requested to do so. When my parents finally got a copy of the paperwork, which they had to repeatedly and pointedly ask for, Joe got them the car, tossed them the keys, and immediately walked away before my parents had a chance to inspect or accept the car. When they inspected the car, it was missing the rear view mirror and the check engine light was on. By this point, Joe had already closed the shop. No one answered the phone.



From the other reviews, we all know what's going to happen. We left a few messages with A Plus Truck & Car Rentals but there's no use. Joe was in a rush to get away for a reason; he must have known the car was defective with a missing rear view mirror and check engine light.



Let's hope that Frank doesn't work for the company. Look at his arrogant responses and failed attempts at making up a fake reviewer. No one would want to do business with a person that underhanded.

I am the victim of these A Plus Truck & Car Rental scam – make no mistake, A Plus Truck & Car Rentals IS a scam.



Do not rent a car from A Plus Truck & Car Rental, they rented me a really beat up car (94.000 miles!!), the outside of both cars was badly scratched and the inside had not been cleaned all that well. I had this car for 2 days and returned a rental car to A Plus Truck & Car Rental in the same condition as it was in when I picked it up.



Yet 5 days later (it took that long to “discover” this?) I received a phone call from A Plus guy who claims: I had returned it with “new dent!!” and my credit card was charged an additional $427.24 for “damage to the vehicle.” This is not true.



Their claim does not include this piece of documentation, apparently Inspection Damage Form that show what damages were on the car before I drove it off A Plus Truck & Car Rental’s lot, has been lost (Nice scam A Plus but be more creative!!)



A Plus charging multiple customers for the same repair but they never use the money for repair!!!



Be aware!!!! NEVER EVER RENT FROM A Plus.



THEY ARE RIP OFFS!!!

NEVER, EVER rent a car or truck from A Plus Truck and Car Rental. The service is terrible, and you'll be robbed of every nickel you got if you try to rent through this company.



Stay away. Stay very far away. If you need a truck or car to rent, go with one that has a reputation to uphold like Avis, Budget, or Hertz. A Plus is a failure on all fronts.

The user id "yaya1969" is marginally different from the user id "yaya19XX" A Plus Truck and Car Rental uses for confirming your car rentals. I strongly believe they are just posting fake review for deceptively boosting their own business. I was cheated by them and had a terrible experience with their fraudulent practice. I'm looking forward to legal actions against their business.

I had the best experience with A Plus Truck & Car Rentals. This Christmas I needed to rent a cheap car since I had family coming from out of town. I google cheap cars and found this company. I found a vehicle for one week for only $99.99 these people were half the price of any other car rental company. Their cars are used but they are clean and run great. I was really happy with the car & their customer service. I wiil recommend this company if you want to save money. Thanks "A plus"

This company pratices deceptive practices. They not only hold on to you CC information. They use it Months after you rent from them, Call you and, say they forgot to add fees. Fees you did not agree to at the time of rental. This is a warning to anyone using them. DON'T....There is a criminal investigation pending against this establishment for fraud. anyone who feels they have been otherwise scammed by them will be contacted. respond to this message. I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY! I NEEDED A CHEAP CAR FOR THREE MONTHS. A PLUS RENTALS GAVE A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA FOR ONLY $408.69 GREAT DEAL NOBODY COULD MATCH THIS PRICE. THE GUYS THERE HAVE A GREAT ATTITUDE. I WAS REALLY HAPPY WITH THE CAR & PRICE!

My son rented a car from them for about a month. Each week someone was calling him to tell him to bring in money to pay for the rental. The term was suppose to be on a monthly basis. When he called the location where he rented the car that person would tell him yes okay to the agreement. Then later that day a women would call with different information and tell him if he did not come and pay the amount she told him they would report the car as stolen. Then when he decided to turn in the car he called and talked to a women and she told him the car needed to be turned in a 9 am and he told her it would be around 10 or so before he could get there would that be a problem and she told he no. When we get there a little after 10 we had to wait about 45 min because they were busy and the guy tells my son he may have to pay for a whole day because he was late and he told her he spoke to a woman and she said he would not.

Then the next day no phone call from the company about the charge they just automatically charged a additional $75 for the extra day even though the daily rate was quoted at a lower rate. What kind of practice is this. You say you have good rates but you add additional charges on the bill that were not discussed at the time of the rental. Very Bad service.
