This class was fantastic. It helped me feel more confident when faced with a threatening situation. The instructors were phenomenal and were able to teach the vital skills in such a short class.

I joined STW after a class with Art and Bridget! Because of them, and the class they taught, I joined right after! I fell in love with the intensity, the instruction they both offered, the knowledge and understanding they taught about each technique.

Training was outstanding. I will tell every teacher I know to do this. I will bug my administrators until they do this. As a parent and a teacher, I feel like this is our only option.

STAY AWAY. The facilities are old and worn down, not inspiring and the fact that they have more sales people in the entrance lobby than instructors should tell you something. I didn't enjoy any part of the experience, and will be paying for another 6 months because of my stupidity in signing the usual ridiculous contract. I miss the KM in Austin where they earned your loyalty and only used a month-to-month contract.

To be clear, I went once. Yuck. I'm paying $79/month for 12 months - my penance for agreeing to a contract that they make extremely painful to cancel even at the end of term - because it will auto-renew by default.

I had registered for a 6 week class and was unable to make it. I called in several times to cancel, but was told that the only person who could process my cancellation was not there. My calls were never returned. I called back again and requested to speak with a manager. He was condescending and short with me and told me I had to email my request. I did and have not heard any type of response. When I first signed up they took a carbon copy of my debit card and ran it twice without my consent. Not a super legit business model.

The trainer works really hard with us and really makes you do cardio. They provide you with lots of variety so you’re not doing the same thing all the time. They keep me in the move and really make you sweat.

Lots of gyms have great classes and instructors. A company's true customer service policy is best revealed when examining how they treat those who are on their way out of the door. And their cancellation policy is designed to pull as much $$$ out of you as possible than actual customer satisfaction. I think this is very telling.



Be aware that if you need/want to cancel for any reason other than moving more than 35 miles away (for which you will have to provide documentation, in writing, to their third party payment processor in Marble Falls), you will not be able to. I know of someone whose wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and they still did not let him cancel his membership.



If, like myself, you stay for the length of your contract, be advised that you have to cancel in writing with 30 days notice. In other words, they are doing everything they can to get another month's worth of payment out of you. Even though this policy is in tiny writing on the back of your contract, they are not forthcoming about it, as they misdirected me when I called to cancel and took over a week to reply when I emailed (which is what the girl on the phone told me to do). Then, when you do write to cancel, they ask you send it certified, receipt requested, which means it *costs you* another $6-8 to cancel!



Bad, bad, bad.



If you are interested in self-defense classes, I bet you can find some other place in a city as big as San Antonio that doesn't view you solely as a credit card number.

This gym is amazing! They have so many classes that range from strength and intensity. I will definitely try to take as much classes as possible.

I tried the Fury class the instructor, was super excellent. I love how fast, challenging this place is. I will be back.

Seriously, the cycling classes here are very competitive, upbeat, and now my legs feels shoot. The instructor was excellent and I have been a member for over 4 years.

Katy was such a positive influence and helped me get deeper in my poses. I only been here for 3 months and I’m feeling stronger.

The cycling classes are really fun. I love the choice of music being played when doing this class. Also how the timing of cycling class; I’m able to start right after work.

I always enjoy STW Krav’s UFC class. I love the challenge and intensity. The workout always feels like time is flying by fast.

They did an awesome job they motivate me to never give up. I only wish I had more time for more classes.
