Stone Oak Family Doctors, PA

I have been going here to see Dr. Coutinho since 2010. I have never had a problem with any staff member. Dr. Coutinho is awesome and takes time to listen and helpful in explaining things. I now have my husband, daughter and son in law seeing him.

If I could give half a star I would. The staff at this facility is awful. I will never return to this place again and I will advise everyone I know to stay away as well. Billing staff is rude and arrogant. If I was sick and dying this would be the last place I would ever go to.

Very very rude billing staff, very hard to get a hold of for results and very unorganized. You might want to get it together and actually invest in people who can interact with the public. We as the partner have a right to ask billing questions and have answers.

Awful practice!!!!! I can't emphasize what a horrible experience I have had. The front office staff is rude and unorganized. It took two hours to see the doctor, and even then the nurse Stephanie who took me back was rude and made me hurry to the back. Dr. Wendy Nguyen was so unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. I went back on a Saturday for a sore throat I had and saw Dr. Philips. He was so cold to me and made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. So, I tired filing a complaint with the office manager, who was rude and tried covering up for the office. Wouldn't go back here if I were dying!!!!

My kids and I have been seeing Dr. Coutinho for a few years and really like him. Haven't had any problems with the office at all. Usually go in a couple of times a year for physicals, labs, etc.

Unprofessional mercenary practice. Had a first lab testing set up, waited more than two minutes before the young lady at reception even acknowledged I was standing there, I asked to PLEASE be sure my insurance would cover the procedure, was curtly told to call my insurance carrier. Chose to find another practice. Prior to this insolent, my insurance carrier requested I go to their lab for some tests, which they would forward to my doctor. I went to Stone Oak and requested those test results and they wanted to charge me at least $25., for something they hand no hand in other than receiving same in the mail...... A word to the wise!

​If you get to the doctors, think of this; On your way you will have to put up with an absolutely contemptuous, arrogant condescending​ staff! Perhaps the doctors are fantastic? But if they allow the staff to be this way, what is their feeling?

My family have been patients here by awesome Doctors (Dr Coutinho, Drs. Nguyen ) but it looks like it s time to change Doctor and Office. Staff here are arrogant, rude unaccomodating and useless! The front desk Jackie shouldn't be in the front! Not very helpful and talks and simply with no Customer Service attitude.She wanted us to set up a separate Doctor's appointment to get Lab results instead of helping us get copies of my own results (that was paid by ME)... There's a lot of new Doctor Offices around Stone Oak we do not recommend this office.

Ive been a patient for years and have never been late before. I was running late for an appointment and called, the gave me a time limit and I was rushing to get there. showed up 10 minutes after the time limit and they wouldnt see me. Is this how you treat loyal customers? How many times have you had to wait to see a doctor? who do you think you are? If it wasnt for patients you wouldnt have insurance companies to bill. They never really gave me any personal care. DONT GO THERE

Horrible experience. Can't say anything about the dr because I never got to see her. I came for my scheduled new patient visit with my 2 year old. They took one look at us and, without any remorse, told me if I had nobody to watch her during my visit, I would not be seen. Nowhere on their website... or when I called to schedule this appointment, was I informed about the "strict policy that children cannot be in attendance for a patient's appointment." The office staff made zero attempts to offer other appointment times and were overall very rude. I guess if you can guarantee you never have to bring your children with you to a visit, then maybe this practice will work for you. Parents... I recommend you find somewhere else.

We've been going to SOFD for years now. We always get seen on time. The Dr's are always friendly and informative. I've never had a problem with the staff. We really like the new location too. Keep up the good work, I'd recommend this office to anyone.

Nothing but wonderful experiences for me.. I think my review should be weighted because I've been using to this practice for me and my family for many years - for everything from annual checkups to emergencies such as mystery rashes, flu-like symptoms, etc... I really appreciate the time Doctors take with us. I also appreciate that we can be seen as walk-ins when it's an emergency.



I'm wondering if many of the bad reviewers are just angry people or... seriously... I thought they were talking about some other place entirely. My advice - establish a relationship with a family doctor in this practice.

This practice is HORRIBLE, DO NOT GO HERE! I was misdiagnosed by Dr. Tamara Domingues and since then have a great practice that actually took a moment to find the problem. The billing office has been awful to work with. The doctor coded wrong and I had to fight for over a year to get a $1000 bill through their office coded correctly to only pay my portion. Then, after I left this practice, my husband kept going here for sick visits and it is now 2012 and they tried to come after us with a bill from 2009 and 2011 when he is now overseas serving our country. They were obviously closing out their books at the end of the year and realized they messed up and then accused us of bills being sent which never came to us. If it wasn't for their office manager, Tina, that tried to understand the problem-this situation would have gotten worse as this is the second time I have had to fight with them over billing charges. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!!!!!

Do not try to be a walk-in. Staff is rude and not compassionate. After waiting over an hour and 40 minutes with my 87 year old mother who has Alzheimer's. I got upset because I felt like I was being lied to. Others in the waiting room had been waiting over an hour as well. UPDATE: Tina the office manager just called me to tell me they would no longer be treating my mother because of my behavior. (I own up to pushing a can of pens and telling them they don't care about their patients.) So this is how they treat people. Love Dr. Coutinho. Too bad you have to tolerate these people to get to see him. Keep looking. There are other doctors in town.
