I went to Sonia on a groupon for the brazilian blowout and I was very dissatisfied with the result. Although Sonia might have over 30 years of experience, she lacks the skill to work with ethnic hair (which is unfortunate, because the brazilian blowout was made specifically for ethnic hair... it called the "Brazilian" Blowout for a reason). Everyone knows that the process is long and tedious and I guess Sonia just lacked the patience that day.

The stylist should wash the hair with a solution and then towel and blow dry the hair followed by flat ironing. After that, the stylist should then rinse the hair and apply the masque and then towel dry. Then a smoothing serum is applied and a final blow dry completes the process.

That was not the process that Sonia applied on my hair that day. She washed my hair with the solution and then blow dried and flat ironed it and then told me that I didn't need to have the rinse done. The masque and smoothing serum was never applied to my hair! When I left, my hair was not straight at all and still had LOTS of frizz!!! Furthermore, because Sonia never rinsed the product out, every time I sweated, my hair stunk like the actual product!!! Becareful going to Sonia on a groupon, she's not worth the $99 unless you already have straight hair. But then again how good of a stylist can you be if you are not able to work with ALL hair types? My friend went to Sonia on the same groupon and her process was done accurately and correct- Then again, she already has straight hair.

Ethnic hair women.... DON'T BOTHER, she's only an expert in the easy stuff. Nothing like a real stylist at all. I must say this post has nothing to do with her personality, I did find her very personable, just incompetent.
