Javier Roman-Gonzalez, MD is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, practicing with South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants. As an adolescent, Dr. Roman-Gonzalez watched his mother, a nurse in the OR, and knew he never wanted to do anything other than practice medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1991. He then completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where, during his cardiology rotation, he was inspired by Dr. Paul Walter who started the arrhythmia/electrophysiology service there in 1980.
