Gene Brown Transmissions

Last week I took my car to Gene Brown on Grissom. I was having problems with my transmission and also my suspension. I thought this was just a transmission place, but they actually service all car issues! I was so happy with the service. As soon as I pulled in, someone came out to see what I needed. Not only did they fix my transmission for a great price, but I also got new shocks and ball joints! These are both huge fixes, but they fixed them both much sooner than I expected. I even got to meet the owner when I picked up my car. He knew about my car and the problems I'd had (even though I'd never met him before). I was impressed that he cared so much about his customers. I don't always need auto repairs, but when I do, I prefer Gene Brown. (yeah, that was cheesy, but this place really is great.)

I have been using Gene Brown Automotive for over 2 years. I have always experienced exceptional service. Ron has always to accomidate me and make sure my care is ready ontime....I have referred my friends and co-workers to him.

My father drove in from Houston with a bad cluth, called shop on Grissom and within 2 busines days we had his truck back with a new clutch at a reasonable price. Great customer service and the entire staff was very helpful!

Recently had a work vehicle repaired here. Installed a new motor, transmission, struts, etc... Price was fair. Great customer service. I would recommend Gene Brown anytime. Thanks!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE LOCATED AT 9045 GRISSOM RD. RON GUTIERREZ, THE OWNER, WILL LIE AND CHEAT YOU OFF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. HE WILL PROMISE QUALITY WORK BUT HE WILL DELIVERY SECOND HAND PARTS. HE WILL ALSO NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH AN INVOICE THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR TRANSMISSION BACK TO "GET WORKED ON". HE KEPT MY TRUCK A TOTAL OF 3 WEEKS AND MY TRANSMISSION IS STILL SLIPPING. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO ANOTHER SHOP WHO TOLD ME THE OVERHAUL WAS A JOKE. THEY FOUND MET "METAL FLAKES" IN MY OIL AND THE GEARS WERE STRIPPED. ALSO, HE PAINTED MY OLD CONVERTER SILVER TO MAKE IT LOOK NEW. PLEASE KEEP YOUR MONEY IN YOUR POCKET AND THROW IT AWAY A DIFFERENT WAY. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS.

My truck had been leaking transmission fluid so I was trying to look for a good mechanic around the neighborhood and read reviews online about Gene brown on Grissom . Left my truck there one day and it was a waste of my day my truck was at there shop all day and never got fixed and Ron wasn't a nice guy by far in fact got better service at a dealership but they charge way too much there i will never go back to Gene Brown or deal with Ron again.

I TOOK MY 1998 CHEVY CORVETTE TO GENE BROWN TRANSMISSION AT 9045 GRISSOM ROAD TO HAVE IT CHECK . RON THE MANAGER TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND TOLD ME THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND NEEDED TO BE OVERHAULED . HE QUOTED ME $1289.95 PLUS TAX , THAT WAS $1210.00 LESS THAN THE DEALER AND ANOUTHER NATIONAL TRANSMISSION CHAIN ON 410 & INGRAM AND TWO AUTOMOTIVE SHOPS ON BANDERA RD . IT WAS READY IN THREE DAYS AND IT WORKED LIKE NEW I AM SO HAPPY WITH THE REPAIRS , RON TOLD ME THAT GENE BROWN TRANSMISSION DOES ALL AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRS , I WILL BE TAKING MY VEHICLE TO GENE BROWN TRANSMISSION FOR EVERYTHING, THANKS RON !!!!!!!!

I took my 2007 Chev Suburban to this shop because my check engine light came on indicating transmission be checked? Ron, had my vehicle checked out and determined that it was nothing major and serviced the transmission and had my on my way. Now, I take all of my vehicles to Ron for regular routine servicing. His service has always been exceptional, reliable and most important at a fair price!

Saved my Life. My experience was quite different. I am new to the city and I find the people here very mean. My 1999 Honda accord broke down on 1604 and bandera at night. I contacted Gene Brown Transmisssion and they had my vehicle towed with in 20 minutes. The next moring Ron the manager had a driver pick me up and take me to work the next morning. I had an estimate by the afternoon. My transmission was not shifting properly and my starter had failed. When I picked up my vehicle Ron took me on a test drive detailing each repair. The mechanic had my old parts in a box. I am very grateful I contacted them the night my vehicle broke down.

I was referred to this shop by one of my customers. I have always taken my BMW to the dealer. The Manager allowed their ASE certified technician walked me through each repair required. Upon completing repairs they had the old parts in a box and test drove the vehicle with me explains repairs performs. I have three cars and will definately bring all three to this shop.

I have been trying to work with these people for three weeks on a job that was supposed to take a week!

My engine needed to be replaced and they told me they could have it done in a week. It is now three weeks later and i am still waiting. There is no communication between the the shop mamager to the customer he is rude and does not follow through on his promises. I have had to pay for 3 weeks of car rental due to his incompetence, I am on a fixed income and planned things so I could afford it. Not only did he blow my budget he was requesting more on my payment than was originally agreed upon.

I highly recommend that you take your businnes to a more repitable company. I thoght the Gene Brown name was trustworthy. All I know is if I did my job the way these people did theres I would be unemployed!!!!
