Brake Check

I went here and had a horrible experience! If you want to be separated from your money through shyster upsell/add-on tactics, please visit them frequently. I went in for a brake pad change and have since learned from another reputable mechanic that I received the "housewife special". In addition to my brake pads I was sold a rotor refinish, new 'hardware', brake bleed and piston 'rebuild' that were very unnecessary and cost me several hundred extra dollars. The staff and technician were condescending when asking questions about their work. I guess they just expect you to turn over your money with as few questions as necessary. A guy in the waiting room laughed after the 'manager' left the room after talking to me for the fourth time. He said the place is known for shoddy work, poor service and add-on charges but he is stuck coming back because he was dumb enough to buy into all of their "warranties". He said he is glad he got them because he has had to come back SEVERAL times for them to fix their errors. I guess I'm glad I cut my losses and didn't get any of the warranties. They also created some additional noise issues in my brake/shifting that I will need to have a reputable mechanic or dealer look at. All in all, a horrible experience.

I took my camry into this shop to have my Master Cylinder replaced.After they quoted me a price of $300.00.I know its high but i had to work a double and i needed my car fixed right away.So i dropped it off and went to work. They called me back and told me that they tested my MC and it was allright ,BUT :and here is were they get you."But sir your rear brake cylanders are leaking and that is the problem. I told them that i have alot of experience in working on brake systems(Simple hydraulics), and that i was sure it was a master cylinder.The Service Mgr swore up and down that if they replaced the rear Brake Cylinders, put new pads on and turned the drums it would fix my problem for $300.00.I Reluctantly gave them the O.K.Guess what after about 8 hours they called me back and said they were still having problems and would'nt be finished with my car until Tommorrow. Man was i pissed. The next day after bumming rides to and from work they called me mid-afternoon .The Service Mgr told me "I've got some bad news ,It's the Master cylinder after all and we would be happy to put one in.Man i cannot remember when i have been that upset.I told the so-called Service MGR that you assured me that the MC was perfectly fine ,so are you going to install it for free.He gasped and said He would have to charge me another $300.00 on top of the $300.00 rear brake job.I not so politly(lots of profanity) told him to Put my wheels back on. And i would be by to pick my car up in an hour.So i walked in and paid my $300.00 bucks and left with a car that had no brakes .It was dicey driving home but i made it .The next day i took time from work and bought a MC from an auto parts store (50 bucks) and replaced my MC .My car has been working fine for a year now and i still swear everytime I pass a Brake Check.The worst thing about this is i know the owner Mr John Peveto and knew his late wife Frida and they were such nice people. I always took extra care while waiting on there table at the Dominion Country Club. Now i know how they can afford such an Opulent Lifestyle.
