Thai Lotus

We live in Utah county, my husband wanted to do something out of the norm, so we decided to go to SLC. I looked at reviews online for several places & chose Thai Lotus. While driving there my husband joked that it better not be some "hole iin the wall" - we've had some bad (but REALLY good too!) food at those places. We parked & looked at the place, my husband kept the car running and looked at me...hole in the wall - I got out of the car anyway & I'm glad I did!



Items ordered - Crab wontons (yummy), veggie rolls so-so), massaman curry (really good), and pad thai (good, would have been really good but the pepper in it was a bit much), and Thai tea (I thought really good, but husband wasn't a fan & ordered a coke), and Thai sweet rice (they brought us 2 varieties white & a purple one - loved the white, the purple's texture we weren't fans of - also not fans of the seeds they put on top). Also, the sticky rice that came with our food was good, sometimes the rice is either not sticky enough or mushy, this was just right.



Service - Service was great, There were 4 tables that had people at them (including us the total was 11 diners), but there were 3 people who came in just for carry out orders. When we asked for more sauce for something it was "Sure!" with a smile, not a grumble & warning that it would cost extra, which won bonus points with the husband.



Decor - Honestly, kinda hokey like they slapped just anything they could find on the walls. But as long as the food's good, who cares?



In conclusion: Was the food good? Yes. Was the service good? Yes. Will we be going back? If we're ever in SLC for something yes, but who knows if we'll drive all the way up there just for food again.
