Butler Middle School serves more than 1,000 students in grades seven through nine. The school was founded in 1964 and has several facilities, including classrooms, an auditorium, and a theater, gymnasium, media center and cafeteria. It additionally offers programs for talented students and for students with special needs. The school also provides foreign language courses, computer education and technology training that include business, home economics and industrial arts classes. It has a resources department that has a speech and language pathologist, guidance specialist, and also organizes classes in reading, English, math and study skills. The school s parent-teacher association is active in fundraising and organizes special school activities and a parent volunteer program. It offers a wide variety of sports activities, such as football, wrestling basketball, golf, baseball, tennis, track, volleyball and softball. The school is affiliated with the Jordan School District and is located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
