Overall

My Experience with Air Design Heating and Cooling has been less than satisfying. I initially took this recommended company from aprilaire since they were located fairly close to my house. I called to arrange an appointment and spoke to Lance. Lance was very professional at this time to take the call and to assist to setup the appointment. He mentioned that the appointment would be scheduled and that Brandon would come. The day of the appointment a technician arrived, however this wasn’t Brandon but seemed like an JR technician of theirs. I told him what I told Lance is that I wanted a humidifier installed and that I wanted this attached to my thermostat. The technician then called Brandon and explained the setup. I wasn’t involved in the phone conversation so I don’t know the entire phone conversation between the technician and Brandon, however, after the call the technician mentioned that he didn’t feel comfortable installing the humidifier and attaching it to my thermostat. He said that he could go ahead with the humidifier installation and that I would need to reschedule to have Brandon come out and to attach the humidifier to my thermostat.

Well after the installation, I began to have water leakage. I told the technician that this wasn’t occurring until after he had installed the humidifier, long story short, he resolved this issue fairly quickly. Anyways, two days later I called back into the office and explained the issue to Lance and how when I initially called I wanted a humidifier installed and the humidifier attached to my thermostat, he became silent throughout the call and finally was surprised that the technician he sent out couldn’t perform the duties. After him going silent and very loss for words, I asked if he could arrange for Brandon to come out since he seemed to be the Senior Technician of the company. While quiet and at the same time seemed very aggravated that he took my phone call, he said he could arrange for this to happen. I then asked him, since everything is now installed at the furnace and there is no additional wire up to the thermostat, if it would be possible to have a temperature sensor installed and have the thermostat at the furnace and if this would be an easier way for his technician. Again, Lance went silence and states to me “What is a temperature sensor”. Okay, this is my turn to go silent, I then asked him how long he has been in the HVAC business and he said for years, I then came back and asked how a business of his would not know what a temperature sensor is. He continued to ask me to essentially educate him. I then told him I didn’t know what type of business he was running and that I am not here for educational purposes and that I would ask that he become familiar with the different HVAC component’s. We both decided that this work that was to still be completed couldn’t be accomplished by Air Design Heating and Cooling, so now I am at a loss of $699.00 since the company couldn’t complete the initial order.

With that said, please take this into consideration on future heating and cooling needs. This company is less than knowledgeable on installing or maintaining your heating and cooling needs, there are more than enough companies in Utah to assist. Don’t do the same and waste your money on unfinished work and unskilled employees and owners. You will come to regret this going forward.
